Lex felt like she had been searching for hours. Perhaps it was just the dry desert air playing tricks on her. Reaching back, Lex slipped a full water bottle out of the side of her backpack. The rather luke warm water wasn't the most refreshing thing, but water was water no matter the temperature.

After a moment of savoring the warm liquid, the sound of thundering hooves drew Lex out of her day dreams. She slowly screwed the top back onto the bottle while carefully scanning the horizon for the source of the rhythmic sound.

Lex caught movement on her left in her peripheral vision. With one smooth move, the redhead slipped the water back into the pocket of the backpack and extracted an empty pokeball. She wasn't even sure what species it was until it was nearly on top of her.

The shiny Camperupt sailed over the sand with ease like a black shadow. It's muscled form lumbered towards her with a fiery glare in its eyes. Apparently, it was quite unhappy she had crossed into its territory. Lex narrowly escaped the bovine's charge and rolled down the sandy mound before coming to a stop at the bottom. The Camerupt was quick to follow, pivoting and kicking up a cloud of sand as it charged down the hill. It picked up speed with the momentum of gravity. To dodge another charge Lex was forced to her feet quickly. Lex lunged left, the Camerupt brushing past her in frustration.Lex's right hand moved forward, tossing the pokeball at the dual-type, hoping to catch the beast for her collection.
