he already caught a bunch of pokemon in this route. he figured he might as well continue the hunt for something good.

it was told that the route was home to a bunch of fire-types and rock-types. kyle deduced that there's a better than average possibility he gets a dog here than on any other route, besides maybe the one by fortree that he already had frequented already for poochies.

kyle whistles for his mightyena's attention before he ventures more in search for dogs.

kyle and his dog searched far and wide, but there was no dog to be found. they continue searching for a dog or a fire-type that gets the bonuses for the month so they can end this venture to the wilds.

the mightyena was a good boy and ignores the tyrunt. if the mightyena had a milk bone for every tyrunt he encountered as a first spawn, he'd have two, which wasn't a lot, but it's weird since it happened twice.

kyle and his dog happened to have encountered a lavesta the minute they leave the tyrunt alone. the idea of capturing it comes to mind, until he reminded himself that he already has one.

"maybe later," he tells his mightyena.

the mightyena doesn't get the trainer's train of thought, but doesn't think much of his words. he barks and continues to move on with his walk around the fire/rock route.

the mightyena quickly shifts his head to a direction opposite to what it's looking at. the sudden jolt surprises kyle that he follows the direction his pokemon had shifted to.

"what is it boy?" he tells his mightyena, tone as indulgent as a parent coddling their kid when they achieve something.

he turns to see the scorbunny that has a better moveset than the growlithe from the raid. like a hunting dog, the mightyena swiftly runs at the scorbunny, charging it and taking it down with its advantage with sheer strength and speed.

the scorbunny faints from shock, and kyle captures it in a ball before his pokemon plays with it like a ragdoll.
