There were dark days ahead. Not matter how sunny, all that lie in front of Eva were looming, grey clouds. They haunted her, flashbacks from the past plucking at the sensitive strings that held her together. She was about to fall apart. She lost Kanto to Rocket and now they threatened to take Hoenn too. Eva barely made it out of Kanto alive, and now she was forced to risk it all again to protect another place she called home. Hoenn was nothing like Kanto, it could never replace it. But she had grown fond of the region. She’d made friends and even felt the subtle warmth of love, for however brief a moment it was, with @simone.

Just like before, she had to abandon her selfish desire to attempt a normal life. Her heart wouldn’t be in it. She was too high-strung and selfless to stay on the sidelines. In the grand scheme of things her life meant little, it was the lives she could save and the destruction she could prevent that mattered more. She wouldn’t let Rocket take this home from her too.
