she had been to the beach before of course. but only a private one where her father had kept an eagle eye watching over her. making sure she didn't go too far in the water, making sure she didn't sit out in the sun too long. always watching watching watching. it was hard to enjoy yourself when you couldn't do anything for yourself. giselle figured it would be a good time to introduce a couple of her new pokemon to her old pokemon now. after all what better place could you have for that than the beach? tank, her chewtle, was running about the sand. headbutting at old and abandoned sand castles to try and knock them down just for fun. while abigail, her new sobble, sat and watched.

she still didn't seem very pleased with the fact that giselle had caught her but she would simply just have to learn to live with it. after all, it was what pokemon trainers did. they caught pokemon and battled with them... it was the way of the world they lived in. abigail would either grow to like her and her new team or she wouldn't. either way there wasn't much she could do to change her situation.

Melody was out and about on the water with her Primarina, she often went swimming with her due to melody's love for the ocean. Primarina was moving at incredible speeds in the water with melody hanging on, she loved this feeling as this is what brought her closest to Primarina. She was also brainstorming some new ideas with her for the next routine they can do as coordinator and Pokémon. Primarina made an upward move as she was going to do a flip in the air. The Pokémon swam upwards with incredible speed and launched herself into the air, melody let go of primarina seperating the two for a moment before primarina launched herself downwards with a upward facing hydropump and caught her trainer and then used sparkling aria to soften the blow of the pair landing into the water. The routine seemed like a sucess and melody smiled in delight as the two went to the nearest beach. little did they know however, they had an audience watching the entire time! Melody stood there stunned, unsure of what would happen next.

giselle didn't notice right off the bat that someone else had come upon them at the beach. though in all fairness it did seem that the other party didn't notice her and her pokemon either. it was abigail that had caught the movement rather than giselle herself. the sobble watching as the other pokemon breached the water with her trainer. the sobble abandoned the spot she was sitting at, walking towards the newcomers on the beach. it was better than standing around with the human who had beaten the crap out of her.

"don't wander too far abigail..." it was then that she noticed where the water type was headed. more people. not surprising considering. with a small smile she tried to give a wave to the people coming up on the beach, not sure if they would notice her or not.

Melody saw the sobble and immediately ran over, it was the reason she was stunned. She LOVED sobble, it was super cute and loved how it was basically a baby with how much it cried. She petted it on the head as primarina also approached it, curious about the pokemon herself. "Hello cutie!! Oh you're so adorableeee!!" she squeeked. However why was this little sobble all alone? Melody looked up and saw what she assumed was sobble's trainer. "Oh! I didn't see you there, sorry." she said as she pushed herself up and offered her hand to giselle to shake it "I'm melody." she said and primarina raised an arm and the lowered it in a bowing motion "And this is my primarina, prim."

giselle was glad that abigail was trying to get along with someone. even if it wasn't her. still, maybe she was going to be able to make a new friend now. with a smile giselle took the other girl's hand and gave it a firm shake. "my name is giselle, and that's my sobble abigail and my chewtle tank!" with her free hand she pointed to the small turtle that was still ramming into sand sculptures on the beach. she couldn't say that she understood it but at least he was having a good time. "are you out here practicing for something?"

her Pokémon were so fucking cute oh my god, melody could barely contain her eagerness as she pet the sobble named abbigail "You're a very good girl huh?!" she pet. She also looked to the chewtle and wanted to pet it as well but hesitated as she knew they had a tendency to bite. "Is it safe to pet tank as well?" she asked curiously. The conversation then moved on to her asking why melody was even out here "Oh, I was practicing swimming with my primarina and trying to do some tricks that I hoped I could apply to our contest routines." she explained, however it wasn't exactly apparently why she was here as well, this beach was pretty secluded. Hell melody only even found it by chance "How come you're here?"

they didn't really have pokemon contests in galar so she listened intently. after all there were lots of things she needed to learn and experience before she could really say she lived here. maybe some of her pokemon would be interested in doing those... contest things. even if she was going to be a ranger she needed to make sure she was stimulating all of her pokemon's needs. "it should be safe! he's just very energetic..." though it seemed that the chewtle had somewhat worn himself out by running out of things to headbutt for the moment. "i was just introducing my water types together. i recently caught abigail and thought she might get along with tank..." but they had all but ignored each other since they got here.

She looked around for something while listening to giselle speak. She was seemingly having trouble getting them to interact with one another. HmMmMmm she looked over to primarina who tilted her head back at melody...maybe she could be useful in getting them to talk? HmmmMmMmM melody looked down at a stick on the floor. "So we just need to give them something to talk or know about to each other? "Lets play a game then, what can tank break?" she said as she pulled a piece of driftwood washed ashore and melody walked over to it and threw it up above chewtle "tank see if you can break it with your jaw!" she called out to it wondering how he'd react to it.

it was a good idea to try and get them interested in one another. really giselle wasn't used to getting new pokemon from the wild. all of them had been acquired how most girls in her station got them. her daddy bought them or boys brought them by to impress her. but now that she was here to do it on her own she realized how little she actually knew. abigail instead plodded over to the primarina more interested how pretty she was instead of whatever the hell tank was doing. the chewtle of course could break the stick with his jaw and took great pride in doing so, snapping it in half with one hard chomp. "good job tank! wasn't that cool abigail?" but with a small huff the sobble lazily blew out a bubble and turned her back once more.

Melody watched in awe as the chewtle managed to destroy the branch with ease....ouch a bite from that would hurt. Melody looked over to the sobble as it snored a bubble out and an aura of dissapointment fell over her. "Oh-" was all that managed to escape her mouth. "tough crowd huh?" she said, as she started to realize sobble was more interested in melody's primarina. "Ohhhh I think I see what's going on..sobble's more interested in prima huh?" she sat there pondering what she could do to switch the target of his interest. [break][break]

"Any ideas? I'm stumped..." she admitted as she scratched the back of her head, she was rarely stumped on these types of situations. If there's one thing melody knew it was how to draw in a crowd but helping someone else do it was a bit harder...there's a natural charm one needed to possess to grab attention and while chewtle was an extreme cutie sobble didn't seem to share the same sentiment.. "Maybe a group activity with all three would help? maybe them dancing?" she thought outloud wondering how she could facilitate it, maybe oricorio could help?

giselle sighed a little bit, also lost about what was going on between the two of them. "maybe... though perhaps thinking that because they were both water types they would get along was pushing it." after all not all people got along. abigail was more interested in pretty and delicate things and tank was more interested in... well being a tank. it couldn't be helped. "did you say that you were practicing a routine for something? do you do contests?" that was something she was interested in herself and perhaps that would be something her and abigail could bond over at least. especially since abigail wasn't exactly fond of her either.

What a tough crowd, one stubborn judge was foiling all of their plans. "Oh? Yeah I do dabble in contests from time to time, I recently participated in Zac Ramsay 's latest contest that features unique biomes. I didn't win though." she said as she let out a small smile as she and her Rilaboom grew a lot closer as a result of the contest. "Me and primarina are practicing our next routine if there's ever a performance we can do in water!" she said cheerfully "And it seems like we've been making some pretty good progress so far. so we should be ready soon. What do you do for fun?" she asked curiously wondering if Giselle had an activity to bond with her Pokémon over.

at least there was something there that she could comment on. especially since she wasn't sure what she liked to do for fun really. all the things she had done back home were just because she was supposed to do them. not because she wanted to do them. she didn't want to sit down and do needlepoint with her pokemon after all. "i went to one of zac's classes on the region! to get better acquainted here. it was very enlightening." and extremely helpful to her solidifying that she wanted to be a ranger. but how could she be a ranger if she couldn't even get her pokemon to work together? "i haven't really figured that out yet! all i really know is that i want to be a ranger, but i guess even in between that i still have to have something to do." after all she wouldn't be working all the time... that was the hard part, finding things to fill the time in between. "maybe i'll try contests."

Ah! contests! They were so fun!! "Ah a ranger! How lovely!" she said with a small smile on her face, yes! someone who was active in helping Hoenn! She always admired those who were willing and eager to help out hoenn in such desperate times that Melody couldn't stand those who sat idlily by and did nothing. "I wonder if I should become one too? I wonder If I COULD even do that?" she said curiously but put the thought to rest for now. "Maybe they'll grow together as friends if they get put into tough spots and have to work together?
