He smiled, his cheeks flushing as she leaned her head against his chest.

"Thank you; I'm told I'm quite affectionate." He jested right back, the thumping of his chest slightly faster than before.

There was no such thing as too eager. The blonde man looked delighted at her response, laughing cheerfully at the reminder of their last outing, a mischievous glint in his eyes as they found hers.

"We could always change that if you would rather us sit in the cold and cuddle again." He said casually, shrugging his shoulders while grinning.

Eva’s answer came before she even had time to think about it. Not that she needed to, she definitely wanted to spend some more time with him. Unfortunately, there was always the small voice in the back of her head that whispered words of warning; Her lifestyle didn’t have room for this sort of thing. For now, she ignored the whisper, completely focused on the present.

It was nice to see her mirrored excitement in Gwyar. It made the woman’s smile grow a little brighter. The mischievous twinkle in his eye made her grin a bit before he even spoke. Eva had a renewed confidence in her silly attempts at charming Gwyar, “Who says we can’t do both?” she reflected his casual shrug with one of her own.

The blonde man blinked, taking his turn to blush... before looking around furtively.

A moment later, he grasped one of his gauntlets and pulled it off, casually placing it on the grass besides him, before turning to her.

He grinned.

"Who indeed?" He said, leaning closer as he placed his hand atop hers palm, digits gently wrapping around it.

Looks like she wasn’t the only blonde with flushed cheeks now. Eva grinned, quite proud of her successful effort to make the knight blush. She watched as the gauntlet came off with a brow slightly raised in interest. What was he doing?

Eva watched his hand slid closer, her eyes growing slightly wider as it registered. The touch of his hand against hers sent her own heart racing. She could feel the small peak of a serotonin rush wash over her. Her own finger gently curled to accommodate his hand as a small smile crept across her face. Emerald eyes flashed back up to look at him. Smooth moves.

“Are all knights this charming?” she asked with a playful grin.

Courtesy and poetry were part of a knight's training... though he had never been terribly gifted at the latter one.

He could scarcely think of a more positive reaction than that one, though. Cheeks still flushed, a chuckle rumbled in his throat as he returned her gaze, smiling softly.

"I've been on a streak since I met you." He said, squeezing her hand gently. "I couldn't even wait until the date. Rather embarrassing of me."

So much for knightly discipline.

Eva doubted all knights were actually this charming. Well, maybe they were. Her experience with knights so far was an n of 1. So far, she was very impressed. Although Eva was easily impressed, Gwyar did have a certain charm that kept her wanting more despite the circumstances life kept throwing at her.

“Oh really?” she raised a brow, giving his hand a gentle squeeze back. Her shoulders shrugged lightly, she was happy he didn't wait, “Well, I’m not very traditional so I don’t mind,” You’d be hard pressed to find a ‘traditional’ bone in her body. Nothing about Eva’s life was traditional and that’s the way she liked it. She took pride in shattering glass ceilings and proving the world wrong. Eva found no joy in following a well-traveled path, she much preferred the more dangerous and surprising route.
