Lex frowned as a Venomoth fluttered into the small clearing they sat at the edge of. The grass-type’s eyes eagerly watched the pokemon, only glancing back quick enough for Lex to shake her head. That wasn’t the kind of pokemon they were after. The Roserade tensed in frustration, watching with intensity as the Venomoth disappeared into the canopy of the forest and out of site. It seems they would be waiting for another and Thorn would have to control her eagerness a bit longer.

Well, it wasn’t the pokemon she was expecting she would be intrigued by, but the Barraskewda piqued her interest. It was fast, and Lex severely lacked decent water-types.

Thorn pulsed with excitement. She eagerly looked back at her trainer, ready to pounce. With a heavy sigh, Lex nodded, vaguely waving a hand at the water-type.

Thorn sprang into action with vigor, sending a flurry of sharpened leaves flying at the unsuspecting fish. The pokemon growled in a combination of pain and frustration, rearing around to ram the shiny Roserade with its sharp beak. Thorn was expecting this, Barraskewda could be so predictable. Her counter was a puff of pale yellow spores that bathed him. The Stun Spore stuck to the pokemon’s moist scales, seeping into the muscles below and causing a convulsion.

Barraskewda fell limp onto the muddy ground, a series of sporadic twitches rippling over it’s body, “That’s enough, Thorn,” Lex dropped an empty pokeball onto it in an attempt to capture it, “Let’s go home,” The disappointed Roserade frowned, reluctantly following the thief out of the clearing.
