The mist closed behind them after they breached the boundaries of the large ruins. The flicker of candle lights, and the gravestones they decorated, disappeared entirely from view. The very air they breathed seemed... different somehow. Heavier; more tangible.[break][break]

Remiel took a moment to stop and soak in his surroundings. An eerie quiet dominated the ruins, broken only by the occassional whisper of a breeze. Hanna, his Froslass, glided forward ahead of him, summoning a WILL-O-WISP without being asked to.[break][break]

A nervous tic, Remiel thought. Froslass were comforted by their wisps. They were used as protection, and sometimes even guides. Though Hanna seemed to be in hesitation about sending it forward just yet.[break][break]

Turning to look at @chloe , the spectacled ambassador speaks. "You may want to summon a pokemon by your side. I don't know recognize this place... we might be the first to explore it in centuries."[break][break]

She hadn’t been expecting things to turn to such a dramatic turn - the plan was to visit Mt.Pyre for a few hours and then return home, exploring unknown ruins was not on the agenda. Though Chloe wasn’t going to complain about it, as she loved exploring new places, and as the mist slowly began to dissipate revealing more of the scenery Chloe’s heart would beat rapidly, tingling for the more adventure that awaited. It took a few brief moments for Chloe to adjust to the denser air - she was fine other then sweating a little more now because of the humidity.

Attention went back towards Remiel as Hanna took the first step, casting a small willo-wisp. Giving a small nod at his suggestion, she would pull out a poke ball as it opened her Starmie Nebula appeared. The pokemon remained neutral to the scenery, giving a few glimpses around to check if there had been any nearby threats. Hearing his words made Chloe only more excited, she hoped that they’d discover something spectacular.

“Kind of nervous.. but excited at the same time” She spoke with a small laugh, awaiting for Remiel to take the lead.

Her excitement brimmed off of her strongly, and it brought out the excitement in Remiel, too-- even if he didn't show it. He hadn't explored such a vast expanse of ruins since before he'd taken his job as Galarian ambassador. But, at heart, he was always an archaeologist. This was the sort of thing that never failed to raise his spirits.[break][break]

"Quite understandable," He responds, with a hint of a smile in his cobalt eyes. "We'll proceed with caution. This should go smoothly if we watch after one another. For one..." He pauses to seize his Froslass' attention with a snap of his fingers, then points to the glowing will-o-wisp in her hands before pointing aside.[break][break]

Hanna seems just as distracted as before for a moment... but eventually comes to understand. "I'll have my Froslass leave trail markers. Just in case we lose our way." Remiel explains, watching as she releases her orb of blue flame and lets it hover in the air beside them. Spawning another one shortly thereafter, the ghostly geisha returns her attention to her trainer afterwards.[break][break]

She could of just been imagining things, but it seemed like Remiel was excited! that was nice to see since he just looked serious all the time. There was a small smile on Chloe's face and she would nod "You can count on me, Remiel"she spoke reassuringly pausing to glimpse at Hana who seemed distracted.

It was a good idea to leave trail markers, they weren't sure how vast the ruins were or how long they were gonna be spending there. Chloe was astonished since she didn't know that willo-wisps could stay for a long duration. "Oh! Thats awesome thanks Hana" She grinned at the frosslass happy to be in dependable hands.

There's something in the breeze that passes between them. A faint, haunting timbre... a ghostly choir? The sound disappears almost as soon as they might realize it. So quickly, and so faint, that the two might even wonder if they'd only just imagined it.[break][break]

They continue into the ruins, walking along an ancient stone path that is almost entirely obscured from view by overgrown weeds that cover the ground. Hanna acknowledges Chloe's appreciativeness with a glance, and a nod. Her body language still reeks of anxiety, however.[break][break]

"Is this your first time exploring ruins such as these, Miss Porter?" Remiel asks, guiding them towards a plaza-like clearing overlooked by the remnants of stone pillars. Something like a fountain lies at its center, though it has sunken halfway into the ground. "Many League trainers I know keep to their urban hubs."[break]

The noise almost goes unnoticed; when it reaches her ears Chloe thought of it to sound like a flute that was being played from miles away, faint but captivating. The sound was mysterious as it quickly vanished in the end she wondered if she imagined the sound. As the pair walked further into the ruins the only noise that could be heard was the subtle whistle of the breeze and their footsteps as they treaded on the ancient stone path.

She'd look back up at Remiel when he asked a question, it was unexpected that disrupted the mysterious silence. "Yep, first time" She never really had an opportunity to explore ruins the only places she's really explored have been forests or caves locations that people frequent on a regular basis. Upon approaching the plaza there was a wide grin on Chloe's face her mouth slightly agape to display the amazement she'd been feeling.

"That's true, when I lived in Unova I barely left the city." She admitted truthfully running her hand against the surface of the ancient fountain. Her hand became covered with dirt and she showed no signs of minding, she just wanted to see what it felt like to touch a relic even if it was just a fountain. "How bout your Remiel? Do you explore ruins often?"

Remiel stopped at the edge of the fountain beside her, leaning over to peek in, but finding nothing of interest beside weeds growing between the ancient cracks. Any water that had once been here was long since drained. The design of the fountain itself was odd. Remiel couldn't place it.[break][break]

Her words draw his attention back, and he watches with indifferent eyes as she pulls her now dirtied hand from the ruin. "Quite often. At least... I used to." He responds, calmly resuming their walk as they explore the plaza a bit further. There's not much else to see, however, besides the remaining stone pillars and remnants of wood.[break][break]

Pulling a handkerchief from his front pocket, the ambassador casually hands it over for Chloe to take before continuing. "I was an archaeologist before becoming ambassador. And a prince before that." That wasn't a fact that he often shared, but Chloe didn't seem like the type to overreact about such a thing.[break]

“Wow!” She said excitedly, Chloe found herself feeling even more excited at the mere idea of discovering ancient ruins. She wondered if Remiel felt as excited as she did, judging from the expression on his face he still looked rather serious but she had a feeling that underneath the stern face he was happy to be here. Chloe felt a little sad to hear that Remiel had stopped, finding that she was wondering what the reason was to why he stopped.

She smiled when Remiel handed her a handkerchief, swiftly wiping her dirty hand with it. After she used it she returned it with a smile, "Thanks your such a gentlemen." [break][break]

Unexpectedly she got an answer to some degree, Chloe blinked when he mentioned that he was a prince, most people don’t get to meet royalty everyday. “O-oh!” She was a little baffled as it came so suddenly but she really didn’t mind - it was pretty amazing to her. She cleared her throat a little to calm down “Are you happy to do it again?” She asked with a curious smile.
