Melody was once again stompin around hoenn looking for Pokémon that she could call her own. Her adventures ended up taking her to a somewhat familiar place. She used to visit littleroot town from time to time as a child as they had a winter home here where'd they would spend vacation time as a family. melody often recalled sneaking out into the forest and playing with the Pokémon nearby where she'd practice her singing in private. Quite often some Pokémon would be enraptured by her singing and would sit in awe and listen to her, sometimes even joining in with her. All in all she had some pretty fond memories here on route 101. She even found the old stump she used to sit on! It was still exactly the same so she decided to try it out, she sat her bottom right on it and began to sing, completely unaware that she had an audience.

chasing teagan through a route wasn't exactly what she had in mind for today. the illumise had decided to bolt as soon as giselle let her out of the pokeball. what was it with her getting pokemon that wanted nothing to do with her? she was a good person and she was trying to be a good trainer and a good ranger. it wasn't her fault that her pokemon didn't want to cooperate the same way. things were easier when it was just her and her pokemon from back home. but she couldn't think that way. a ranger needed a wide variety of pokemon in order to be prepared for any sort of situation.

"you shitty little bug when i get my hands back on you..." she stopped her sentence when she heard some singing. it sounded familiar but she couldn't really place it until she saw the bright pink hair as teagan circled the new person. "melody? what are you doing out here?" she was less concerned about the illumise now that she realized it was just chasing after the sound melody was making.

A small Marill approached melody to listen to her song, it seemed entranced by her singing and sat in awe. Melody gestured for her to sit down closer to her and sing along to which she did for a few moments as melody pat it on the head. A Marill! How cuteeeeee! Melody loved their round little bodies were so squishy and they were pretty powerful too! Melody pulled out a pokeball after the song was done and gestured for it to tap the ball as marill did so gleefully. However even after the song was over, another pokemon joined her! An illumise flew over to her and began to circle around her. She looked over and saw giselle approaching her...was this illumise hers? She tilted her head "Oh hello Giselle! Fancy running into you here!" She smiled at the woman glad someone else was here with her, melody had been meaning to contact her and see how the woman was doing. "I'm doing fine, just trying to see if I can make some new pokemon friends. I used to come out here during summers with my family and do it all the time." she said with a small smile on her face.

so preoccupied with the fact that she was chasing down her illumise did she miss the fact that a fat appletun sat in the bushes, snoozing peacefully. it was for the best really. she already had one of those pokemon and she didn't particularly need another. not when it was hard enough keeping up with what she had. her team had grown so quickly as of late it was hard to really keep track. "it's been awhile, have you been doing alright?" the last time and the first time they had met melody had run off rather quickly. giselle had hoped that nothing terrible had happened in the time between now and then. "i see you've met teagan, she flew off as soon as i let her out of her pokeball." but it was fine, it didn't matter much when the forest seemed safe enough really.

A little baby budew had crawled right up to melody, tripping right on her foot. Oh how cute, she picked it up and placed it on her lap to console it. "Shhhhh...shhhh" she said as she hummed to it calm it down. She bounced it up and down a bit too to distract it as she spoke to giselle. "Ohhh I see, so my singing lured it here huh? Sorry if she caused you and fuss on her way here" she laughed. [break][break]
"What are you up to? Exploring the forest?" she asked curiously. As the budew had finally clamed down from crying and melody raised it up to look her in the face. "See? it's alright now, you're fine!" she grinned as Budew happily coo'ed in response. Was...was she a mother now? Melody broke out into a sweat realizing what she had just done. But she couldn't let budew go now as she'd be responsible if it died in the wild.

giselle relaxed a bit more, taking a seat on a large rock that happened to be nearby. there was no real point in standing like she was if they were going to sit and have a chat. this way it was much more relaxed. much more enjoyable. she watched as melody babied the little budew and teagan flew closer to watch, the bug pokemon gently booping the grass type where it's nose should have been. it was cute. "mhm! trying to get the lay of the land more. still trying to become a ranger you know?" or at least become a better once. since last they'd met she had managed to complete a few jobs for them and felt a little more confident. but still, there was always more work to be done with it. it was when she was starting to doubt herself that she saw what appeared to be a lady come from the forest. but it was no lady, rather a pokemon that unfortunately was popular for all the wrong reasons looking just a little bit lost.

but she would be able to give it a good home as it approached, a little confused at the gathering. the gardevoir's hands clasping together as she was excited. as if she'd found a secret party or something that she'd walked in on. taking advantage of the psychic types curiosity giselle held out a pokeball for her, excited when she tapped on it. it was always a thrill when a pokemon came along willingly. "i can't believe we ran into each other out here though." it was a strange coincidence.

"Oh really?!" she said happily, glad that @giselle was chasing her dreams! Melody smiled at her fondly, a granbull had snuggled up to her during melody's song and she extended a hand to scratch it on the head as it scratched itself in pure euphoria. It let out a yawn as it seemed to be taking a rather peaceful nap. Melody placed the Budew next to it's head for it to peacefully sleep next to the granbull as well. Oh you're an absolute cutie too! I'm glad to hear it! We need more rangers around making the world a better place!" she said, unable to really get up from the stump or else she'd disturb the tranquility she created here. "If you want I could show you around this forest sometime if you want. I used to spend a lot of time in these forests cause of my family's vacation home nearby and I'd run around in here all the time so im pretty familiar with the landscape here. Pokemon here also tend to be pretty friendly, as you can obviously see." As she continued to scratch the grandbull's head and pat her.

"that would be great! getting to know any part of the landscape is better than none, especially if you have a guide." especially since it seemed as though there were so many strange pokemon out and about. and sometimes not even really strange but occasionally out of place. like a giant bouffalant that seemed to come from nowhere. but that was easily solved with the toss of a pokeball. "i'd love to be able to spend more time hanging out with you." and she meant it. she liked making friends and she needed all the ones she could get right now.
