he bit into tip of one of the carrots and a small shiver traveled down his spine as he chewed. it was cold for sure but also pretty sweet as well. he wasn't quite sure what to expect from a carrot that looked like it was some kind of icicle that grew out of the ground. as he continued to munch on one of them there was a second where the crunch of the carrot was much louder, like glass shattering, not a nice cronch sound that was music to his ears. 

for a moment he thought he had broken one of his teeth and rubbed his mouth and swished the remains of the carrot around with his tongue licking the inside. he wasn't feeling any pain nor did he feel something that didn't taste like an ice cold carrot. so if it wasn't him then...what was it? 

the blonde's eyes darted left and right checking as much of his peripheral as he could as kazimir brought another carrot to his mouth and took another big and loud bite. was he going to have to deal with a carrot thief? here of all places? why couldn't this happen in his berry garden like a normal robbery of his hard grown crops.

SHOAL CAVE

TAMING THE HORSE

UPON RETURNING TO SHOAL CAVE, the same unnerving feeling of being watched returns. in this frigid underground, your hard footsteps clack against ice and echo across valleys of frozen blue. however, you instinctively hush yourself. a horse-like pokemon neighs in the distance. a mask of ice surround pupilless eyes. from its hooves, intense cold air wafts.

♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡

however, the horse seems to notice you. it advances closer. the clopping of hooves echo too, orchestrating an endless percussion of icy beats. suddenly, the earth freezes even more so. an additional layer of ice grows outward and higher with immense speed. before you can blink, an icy ramp forms right before you— and the horse slides across the ice in a flash to greet you from their elevated stations.

write a post that has your trainer offering the carrot to the glastrier and then post in MODERATION REQUESTS. after they have been given the carrot, the horse will promptly flash away.

should your trainer come the next day, they will find the glastrier in shoal cave once more. shiv will post a new prompt, detailing what the glastrier wants (hopefully, once per day). each request fulfilled by your trainer will steadily tame the glastrier.

while nothing looks out of the ordinary the sounds that reach kazimir's ears caused the hairs on the back of his neck to stand up straight. his stance became firm and solid as he stood straight up and turned around slowly as the sound of footsteps from behind started to become more obvious. however as he turned around a wave of cold washed over his ankles and encasing them in ice that burned against his skin as it crawled up his feet. 

he was frozen in place.

from the hazy mist a horse coated in ice approached him, its yellow eyes the first thing he saw as it pierced through the veil. as it approached its footsteps suddenly became louder, heavier, faster as it charged right at kazimir. goosebumps began to form along his arms as he leaned back, trying to take a step back out of reflex but the ice prison around his feet wouldn't let him. 

he was stuck here.

"well then c'mon ya cold blooded pony! your nothing but a little snowball!" he cried out with a smile on his face as he brought up his fists as if he was challenging the pokemon. if it was going to do something as dirty as trap him instead of fighting fairly then he was just going to have to oblige it and fight it. he wasn't expecting ice to suddenly grow in front of him and form a ramp for it to stand on and look down on him from where it stood. as their eyes met kazimir's started to twitch, was it seriously looking down on him? literally?

"well someone's got a pretty high opinion of themselves yeah? what ya think your..too..good?" as his arms were flailing about he noticed that its head was moving as well, moving along with the movements of his hand that held one of the ice carrots he collected. up and down he moved his hand and like a reflection in a mirror the horse's head moved along with it. 

"you want? catch." kaz threw the carrot into the air and the horse masterfully caught it in its teeth by  its tip before flipping it into the air and chomping down on it in a single bite.

when they spot you, the horse seems hesitant. without the iceroot carrots— you do not possess the same gravity you once did; however, it approaches still, sensing your benevolent motives.

GLASTRIER ASKS FOR:

OFFER THE WILD HORSE WHAT THEY SEEK

write a post that has your trainer offering any two week berry to the glastrier and then post in MODERATION REQUESTS. after they have been given the berry, the horse will promptly flash away.

you do not need to have the berry grow in your garden. you can simply purchase it from the SITE SHOP.

should your trainer come the next day, they will find the glastrier in shoal cave once more. shiv will post a new prompt, detailing what the glastrier wants (hopefully, once per day). each request fulfilled by your trainer will steadily tame the glastrier.

kazimir slid down the ice ramp with a basket tucked under his arm, the horse watching him as he skated around thanks to momentum and did a little twirl. the horse just let out a huff. "thank you thank you, your a wonderful audience. so how have you been big guy?" with his question kazimir approached the horse only for it to take a step back. this caused an eyebrow to cock itself in confusion as with each step kaz made forward the horse took one back.

did it not trust him just yet? he fed the darn thing its chilly carrots.

"you want a snack then? i got plenty." he held out the basket out to the horse who leaned in to give it a sniff. it then huffed and shook his head. "oh uh...i don't actually have anymore carrots for ya..." with his sheepish words he shrunk back a little bit, even if he wanted them they still were taking their time to grow. so instead he had...

"c'mon tamato berries are pretty good too. my pokemon enjoy them like a snack and so do i." flipping open teh basket revealed a bushel of orange spiky berries and set it down onto the cold floor and slowly backed away to give the horse some space. the white beast inched forward and took a sniff of the berries, and then sniffed them a second time, and suddenly took one into its mouth and began to chew it as its tail wagged behind it.

it seemed to enjoy it.

kaz couldn't help but let out a chuckle as a sign of relief that this strange pokemon was very into the berries. "see, told ya they were good. maybe next time i can bring some different ones for you to try. how's that sound?" the horse seemed too preoccupied with eating its offering to really hear kazimir. still the blonde just smiled as he stepped a little bit closer and placed his hand on the horses' side to give it a gentle rub.

it was cold, but the soft feeling of short haired fur was still present on it.

write a post that has your trainer's pokemon using the move, CHIP AWAY, to help groom (or sculpt) the glastrier's icy protrusions and then post in MODERATION REQUESTS. after they have been given the berry, the horse will promptly flash away.

should your trainer come the next day, they will find the glastrier in shoal cave once more. shiv will post a new prompt, detailing what the glastrier wants (hopefully, once per day). each request fulfilled by your trainer will steadily tame the glastrier.

"...did you gain weight?" the question was met with an angry whinny as the horse lifted its mighty lets to stamp onto the cold ground, sending a crack right between kazimir's legs causing the man to nearly jump out of his boots. "whoa ok, sorry i didn't know you were sensitive!" he exclaimed as he danced around the crack and took a few steps back to make sure that he wasn't the one getting stomped on next, "still though, ya look like you need to uh...sharpen yourself up. need a...hand with that?"

the glastier dipped its head in a nod as if it understood kazimir's proposal to help. the trainer felt a little bad however, he offered to help but he wasn't quite sure how one goes around styling a mane made out of ice. looking over the creature he could somewhat tell that just chipping off some of the ice might work, it wasn't a whole lot that formed up around the horse so he had to assume that it wasn't a bit deal.

yet.

as he reached down into his belt to grabbed a pokeball he never broke eye contact with the strange horse as he fiddled around with the various balls on him. there was one pokemon that knew a move that could probably help him out, and he was just lucky to have it on hand at a time like this. his finger clicked on a button and out of his belt came out a small little totodile that did a little dance of greeting to his trainer and the large ice horse. 

"hey minizilla think you can lend a hand? just uh, let's help chip away some of our friend here's...ice. can ya do that?" the little water gator glanced between trainer and horse with his mouth agape in a smile as he gave a salute. that was when kazimir bent down and picked him up and held him out to glastier, the horse took one sniff of the totodile and suddenly the sound of ice chipping erupted in its ears as the totodile started to scratch at the ice with his chip away move as kazimir moved him around the horse to make sure that they got every since inch of ice that the could find. after a few seconds the horse seemed to be into his little massage slash haircut and leaned into the duo as they cleaned.

THE NEXT DAY, you see the horse— but it seems different in appearance from afar. getting close, you see that the glastrier has become quite dirty. perhaps, it's all that flashing back and forth in the cave that has caused its beautiful equine form to be marred by mud.

when the glastrier sees you again, they seem hesitant. without the iceroot carrots— you do not possess the same gravity you once did; however, the horse approaches still, sensing your benevolent motives. the glastrier must be cleaned. perhaps, there is a pokemon that is an expert at tidying things (and pokemon) up...

GLASTRIER ASKS FOR:

OFFER THE WILD HORSE WHAT THEY SEEK

write a post that uses ONE MINCCINO OR CINCCINO and a Pokemon using the move, SOAK, to help clean the dirty glastrier. of course, the water may freeze, so work fast! after, post in MODERATION REQUESTS. after they have been cleaned, the horse will promptly flash away.

should your trainer come the next day, they will find the glastrier in shoal cave once more. shiv will post a new prompt, detailing what the glastrier wants (hopefully, once per day). each request fulfilled by your trainer will steadily tame the glastrier.

the grapploct doused the horse in cold water with a powerful soak that managed to get into every crease of ice that it could so that there was no speck of mud left. afterward a small minccino that he was looking after for a friend hopped up onto the horse and started to scrub away and dry off the coat of the horse. kazimir also joined in with his own sponge and towel to help get the spots where his pokemon's washing efforts didn't quite hit the mark. 

"boy what have you been doing since last time. running outside on the beaches? there isn't even any mud around here ya silly-" he was cut off by a swipe of the glastrier's tail that checked him in the hip. it wasn't even a soft tail, more like getting hit with a frozen club that got a yelp and a groan out of kazimir as he stepped away holding his side and rubbing it while his pokemon just giggled at the sight.

"oh you think your funny huh? then how about we show you how intense a bath can get!" he suddenly grabbed his grapploct and squeezed him tightly to get him to spew out water into the horse's face wringing out a whinny from it as the pokemon and trainer played a game of chicken one another getting soaked and clean throughout.

THE NEXT DAY, you see the horse. they do not seem hesitant at all this time. instead, the horse appears to be waiting for you closer to the entrance this time, as if the glastrier was in tune with your rhythms. your schedule. in its mouth, a narrow strap of ice dangles and emanates chilly air.

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♡

should you take the reins, they are immensely cold to the touch. one wonders if frostbite would crawl up their palms— for the chill is painful against human skin. even worse, it penetrates past any fabric. the glastrier beckons you to mount its back, pristine and well-groomed thanks to both of your effort. with a snort, the horse brings you two to a different shoal chamber. here, a vast field filled with fences of ice, bridges and more appears before you: an equine agility course.

the glastrier raises their front legs and neigh. cold air rushes from its hooves. quickly, the horse dashes into the course, and you must hang on for dear life, even if the icy reins cut into your trembling hands.

TAME THE HORSE

REIN THEM IN!

WITH EVERY POST, make a ROLL. you must hit or surpass a total of 100 to successfully hang on to the glastrier; furthermore, the horse is examining your ability to ride them!

shiv will post the conclusion to this encounter after you have posted in MODERATION REQUESTS.

when it insisted that he would try to ride it kazimir wasn't quite expecting that. still it was nice to know that all the days he was spending with it had earned its trust, after all a pokemon letting someone hang with it let alone ride it was a big honor for a trainer. he did feel guilty about how he's been brute forcing a lot of captures he's gotten lately so this was a pretty nice surprise.

what wasn't a surprise was just how rough this horse was while actually running. the cold air and reigns pierced his skin and made it a little hard to focus as he was bumped around as the glastrier made its way along the course that it called home. with every jump it made kazimir felt like he was about to fall off of its back and it got to the point where instead of holding onto the reigns he leaned forward and held onto its neck to make sure such a thing didn't happen.

even that wasn't a saving grace as his bare cheek against its cold skin was not a pleasant feeling.

another lap of the course and kazimir was showing some kind of improvement. he didn't need to cling onto the glastrier for dear life anymore and was actually using reigns like a normal horse rider. it still didn't help the cold that seeped into his skin because of them and despite wearing a few extra layers of clothing he could feel the cold slowly crawl up his body but he did his best to endure. after a few minutes of running he was starting to get used to it that it felt almost natural to him. still it was a rough ride.

"hyah! c'mon let's try for a personal best! hyah!" he snapped the reigns and caused the horse to rise up on its hind legs and let out a neigh before sprinting even faster along the track. with each jump and gap it crossed kazimir found himself laughing because of the fun he was having. he sure was starting to come around to liking this strange horse and he was really counting his blessings on how lucky he was that he met this strange pokemon.

"HIGH HO GLASTRIER! C'MON BOY! LET'S KICK IT UP!" the sound of clopping echoed through the shoal cave's caverns as kazimir and glastrier raced through the obstacle course at a blinding speed. the course itself seemed different with a few personal additions and alterations that kazimir added in order to make this course a little more fun for both him and the glastrier. more jumps and even a few hoops with flags on top of them allowed the blonde to try and nearly slide off the horse in order to grasp them in his hand, a few cones spread along a straight away for the horse to weave through while going in at top speed. all of it ended with them skating along the ice in order to look a little cool for themselves as they finished off the course and kazimir pulled out a stopwatch to check it.

"oh hell yeah! we beat our record by five seconds! great job ice pop!" kazimir leaned down and hugged the horse's neck from behind in which the horse replied with a happy whinny. the cold that once came off of the pokemon was a feeling that kazimir soon welcomed after spending so much time with it. it really helped cool him down from all the sweat rolling down his face and the heat inside of his body building up from so much adrenaline.

"hey today was fun, but i think i'm ready for a bit of a break, how about you?" a huff was all that he got. "geez you never stop do you? well...i can leave some pokemon here to keep you company, they can help set up the course again, and hey, my iceroots are blooming again. i'll bring them along next tiiiiiime, ain't that great?" now it was a whinny that was given to him and the blonde couldn't help but laugh in response.

kaz had made on his promise to bring some more iceroot carrots for glastrier and the two of them stood on the beaches of the shoal caves and gave each other a glance. they stared into their eyes and nodded at one another before kazimir quickly climbed up onto his new friend. snapping the reigns glastrier rose to its hind legs and let out a loud whinny before charging into the sea, its steps turning the sea water into ice as the duo majestically rode off into the sunset.
