Positive reinforcement only comes after basic training. The way Fernando pets his Pokemon means little to it. Prior discipline has taught it to care little for small gestures. It’s the big things that count.

The Pokemon is given a chance to rest as Fernando continues to invade the Safari Zone.

To his Smeargle’s surprise, Fernando doesn’t call for it to attack. Instead, it’s snatched off the field in a sleight of hand. In it’s place is his Urshifu.

“Make it quick.”

The bodyguard is not trained like his other Pokemon. Frankly, it’s not trained at all. It’s natural tendency to fight is manipulated in a way that such instincts are funneled in a productive manner. He assumes its part of the specie’s line.

SURGE STRIKES hit with surgical precision. What’s left is a husk of the Pokemon, bright and pulsing.

One last Safari Ball puts an end to that.
