Seeing them lined up, glossy, probably more expensive than all the money he'd make in his life had initially only been another reminder of fonder days lost behind. It wasn't until he saw just how much of a jackass the owner of this one in particular was that he'd had the bright idea to steal it. If you can't beat 'em, after all, rob 'em blind. Shitface McMike was probably blowing a gasket halfway across town right now, but here in the moment, Nikki was living out old daydreams and forgetting what it felt like to feel trapped in one's own tired body. It felt great. And precisely because it felt great, it all had to come to a terrible halt.[break][break] What was that up ahead? A tree? A person?
