Lightning clapped, striking behind cover before the Electivire fell. The Lurantis grit its teeth and clawed at the earth, arcs of electricity dancing over the surface of its body.
Frost began to form on the other end of the battlefield, the Blastoise preparing to bring the battle to an end.
But that seemed entirely unnecessary; Lurantis only had means of prolonging the battle as she were now.
"Well done, challenger." The leader said as he produced a net ball from under his jacket, returning the Lurantis to its pokeball before the blizzard really ruined the Mantis' day. "It is your victory."
He rolled the two net balls of his impromptu battle partners with a hum. Though they hadn't been the planned duo, they had been suitable for the engagement, possessing many tools to put the challenger's wits to the test... But a general lack of versatility had held them back.
"You've given me much to think about regarding these two." He said, stuffing them back into his jacket. He knew what he would have to work out with them in the future. "My thanks."
He turned on his heel towards the largest building in the camp.
"Normally, this is were I take ya to the office and interview ya; but there's nothin' to discuss 'ere." He said, producing the badge from his sleeve with some sleigh-of-hands. "Could complain' 'bout changing the weather 'fore the fight proper starts, but this ain't that kinda gym."
He flicked the badge over his shoulder at Matias, the shiny metal flickering as it flew at the other man.
"Congrats, Challenger. Yer much better at battling than ya are at three-legged racing. I wish ya luck in yer gym challenge!" The young man said, letting out a soft laugh as he began making his way into the largest building, finally free to get out of the goddamned rain.
