This place reminded her a little bit of Alola, so she hummed a few verses of a song she’d learned there. Not some grand performance or anything, just a little bit of musical music for oneself while riding on her Lapras. She’d been preparing to leave this town for a few minutes now, but hadn’t quite taken the first step yet. Instead, she half relaxed like this, eyes fbriefly focused upwards at the spotless blue sky above. If nothing else, Eve was properly prepared. Wearing a black neoprene swimming suit, she wouldn’t have to fear the water at all. Lus, she was barefoot, except for the straps of cloth coming from said suit, which allowed her to properly feel the ridges of her Pokemon, especially when she stoop up ontop of the larger Pokemon.

It had been quite the loyal travelling companion so far. And it likely was going to be for many more trips to come. Though, admittedly, even on top of her Pokemon, Evette wasn’t awfully tall herself. She wasn’t really tiny or anything, but she always considered herself below average. It was rare that she did not have to look up to people. Being approached by that boy was one of those few times. “Huh, moi?” It took her a moment to realize that it was meant to be addressing her. She still always assumed others had no reason to talk to her. She’d gotten a lot better since she’d left Kalos for the first time. But old habits did indeed die hard. Still, at the very least her response was, as always, polite, gentle and friendly. There was a hint of a smile on her face. “Ahh. No. I am here for the first time, actually. I’m not from…around here at all.”

Oh. So he did not quite catch her accent. Interesting. Then again, hers wasn’t as strong and thick as that of some other Kalosians. Probably due to her vocal training. After all, a good singer did have to be able to overcome things like that. Another girl she’d trained with had come from the country, with a much slurrier speech. But by the end of their time together, she had sounded as sophisticated as everyone else, really. “I am from Lumiose City in Kalos. It is….big. Even bigger than Slateport here in Hoenn. We don’t have as much in terms of coastal regions either. What we have is a tad bit cooler, at least in most areas.” While not very talkative about matters pertaining her persona, Evette did easily relate information like this, when prompted. Then again, as soon as that was exhausted, she immediately fell silent.

The girl really did not have anything else to say. Fortunately, she was saved from having to make anything up by a loudly screeching Noibat from above. It immediately drew her – and Lapras’ – attention. The noise was of somewhat high frequency, combative, but there was also something…intriguing about it. The Pokemon clearly sought the attention, too, for instead of attacking them in an ambush, it announced itself.
Very well then. “Ice Beam.” Her order was short and clear, immediately heeded by her Lapras. Within moments, a bright white beam of icy energy started from the transport Pokemon’s mouth. The Noibat managed to dodge the initial burst, but it then spent a few moments all but boasting about that with a flying twirl of sorts. However, Kapras was able to sustain the beam just for a bit longer – and with a tilt of its head nudged it sideways, right into the Noibat’s face. That hit and briefly froze the Mon in its tracks. Which, given its airborne position, meant that it was falling all but immediately. Eve threw one of her balls at it, carefully taking aim in the hopes of hitting the falling target.

Was it really that interesting? She reckoned that there were a lot of tourists. Then again, was very much distracted in that moment, as she caught the ball that now contained the Noivern. It was one of her favourite Pokemon, after all. It was a complete surprise to run into one now, so the joy of having finally caught one was catching up to her now. Briefly, she held it to her chest. Then, she allowed to really think about what he’d just said – and swiftly turned towards him again, her gaze somewhat intense, but mot incredulous, rather than angry or so. Had he just made a pass at her? It was hardly a new thing for her, of course, given her career and travels so far. But she never reacted that well to it.

Not that she grew angry or anything, no. She just didn’t really know what to make of it. Eve did want to find love, but she didn’t really know the first thing about it, aside from what the novels told her. And this didn’t seem like it came from any such novel. “I…no, I am not looking to settle down. I am just trying to see the world, looking for various things. And usually I just book a place in a hotel. People in Hoenn seem….used to travelling trainers needing a place on short….notice….” Once again, Eve seemed distracted – and she quickly turned to boot, seeing something else flying in the sky. Small, blue and white, it looked a lot like the sky itself. A Swablu.
She wanted it.
“Ice Beam, again,” she ordered, and Lapras used the small one as target practice a bit. That was it’s go-to move, after all, so it had gotten reasonably good at that. Once the move connected and once again a Pokemon seemed to fall from the sky, it was time for her to show accuracy, as she flung one of her remaining balls at the Swablu.

“That is a Jellicent. We have those at home, though some seem to have made their way to this region,” she replied, even though that had not exactly been a question for her. Still, as good an opportunity as any to change the topic. He seemed to have gone quite awkward at her reply, after all. Best to let sleeping dogs lie. And help swimming dragons out of the water?
No, that was no proverb she knew. Still, she couldn’t help but think that when a Bagon seemed to try and paddle about. Taking her attention off of him briefly, Eve scanned the sky, looking to see if there was some Brutalanda flying about. It was certainly possible that this one had fallen off when one of those had crossed the skies. Best to not get involved in that case, at least in sight of a potentially angry dragon mother.

However, none was in sight. “Lapras, help it out will you?” The gentle transport Pokemon agreed, swiftly moving to the location of the straggler and picked it up with its maw. That was a relatively gentle action by itself, and the Bagon did not fight back much. Instead, it seemed relieved to be out of the water.
Lapras moved it towards Eve and the planks. “Hello there little one. Do you want to rest in here? I can’t promise you anything beyond that, but I can keep you safe at the very least. Though I do understand if you don’t want to.” She held a ball near the Bagon’s head, allowing it to nudge the button and allow itself to be caught, if it so chose.

A, nice. The Bagon was amicable. She would try to get it back to its parents, but if she couldn’t, she would offer it a place to stay at least. That would be the best course for the time being. The boy, meanwhile, seemed to have his own scuffle, yet seemed to succeed in that as well. Apparently, this area was a bit of a hotspot for dragon types, which was something interesting for her own notebook. She hadn’t seen a spot like this back in Kalos.

Her nearby compatriot had briefly gone down to apparently commune with another one of those. Interesting to see how easily he went into the water. Most people wouldn’t do that, even in a town like this. It would have been far more common to just use a Pokemon to pull the other up or so. Or toss them away, incidentally. She noticed that nearby, with someone using a broom to try and brush a Pyukumuku back into the ocean. The little thing was blown away with great gusto. Taking a bit of pity at it, Eve threw one of her balls at the unwanted Pokemon. It looked interesting. She was sure that it wasn’t the kind of thing one should just brush aside.
A returning young man pulled her attention back towards him, however. “Uhm, I do have a Lapras and that was mostly it. I was not big into catching Pokemon until I started travelling. I did not really need them, but I have gotten more invested in catching them once I went to Alola.”
