The young Pansear sat atop Lex’s shoulder, watching it’s older familiar walk calmly in front of them. The Infernape had a certain strut to its step that made Lex feel a bit more confident in the pokemon. In all honesty, she was out here to test its worth, including the Pansear’s. The young pokemon was to learn from the elder since they were both humanoid fire-types.

Being captured, thrown in jail, and having to escape was a wake-up call. She wasn’t strong enough. If she couldn’t handle a little Ranger, how as she supposed to defend herself and Killian from Kaito’s attempts?

“Keep your eyes peeled,” she muttered to the fire-types. They were looking for a good sparring pattern, something to test their strength and perhaps capture to take home.

The Infernape spotted the Beldum before Lex had. She was surprised to watch the ape leap forward in a blaze of fiery light. He bathed the route in an orange glow while spinning himself into a cartwheel. Kip was lost in flames as he barreled towards the young Beldum. The psychic-type was caught by surprise. Experience gave Kip the upper hand. As the Beldum rolled across the path, Kip skidded to a halt, opening his wide mouth as the sea of flames on his head danced wildly.

Beldum was then masked in a sea of flames as Kip finished it off with a Flamethrower. The Beldum’s metallic body glowed a hot red as the flames subsided. Lex tossed her pokeball at psychic beast.
