The catch was very simple once the pokemon was trapped by the skilled shadow pokemon. She threw her ball at an opening and it hit. Her feet left the ground for a moment as she did a happy little jump, not failing again on her throw for a second time. Just because she was a woman didn’t mean she couldn’t throw, she just had a poor example of that due to the internal stress she was ignoring.

“Nice!” She watched the rock turn to a beam of light and shoot into the pokeball.

“Okay,” She whispered to herself, thinking of what should happen next. She knew she’d have to ask Gavin to heal up Pixie so the mimikyu could have another chance to shine.

“Could you heal Pixie, please?” Robbin asked, spinning on her heels to face Gavin after plucking the clothed pokemon off of the ground.

Should @robbin pay attention to the Lucario as Gavin clicks his tongue to command it, perhaps she'd note the discomfort with which it regards its master. A great deal of trust was required between trainer and Pokemon to induce an evolution such as its own, yet such a connection didn't seem to be present between the pair.

Still, it's obedient, and a pulse of healing energy targets Mimikyu.

There seems to be a stronger bond, ironically enough, between Gavin and the prehistoric shadow Pokemon that lands nearby. He cuffs it affectionately on its jaw, carefully avoiding the black spikes protruding from its rocky hide, before returning it.

In its place, a different shadow Pokemon: a Roserade whose ordinarily red flower presents as a dark crystal bloom.

A click of Gavin's tongue sees it target what looks to be an ordinary rock with a blizzard of green and black petals. Only then is it revealed to be a Geodude, the attack causing it to crumble beneath its force.

Merciless, Gavin tosses a ball at it.

On the side of the route was water, and Robbin’s back was faced towards the water as she watched Gavin. The lucario who was called to heal was… not pleased.

“Thank you!” She did her best to sound extra nice to the lucario and forgot to thank Gavin.

“Can I get a fist bump, y’know, for being great?” Robbin added the last part abruptly, maybe they wanted to do something besides heal on the sideline, and this was the best she could offer without overstepping on Gavin. She proceeded to make a fist and gingerly hold it out for them to see. Quickly she retracted it and mimicked a fist bump before holding her fist back out, hoping the lucario would give it to her.

Gavin was quick to send a roserade out, which caught her attention for a moment. Like the aerodactyl, which she just saw get a form of affection after completing their task, was a shadow pokemon. Now this pokemon was elegant and stunning with it’s black crystal rose that twinkled and winked in the sun. It completely demolished a geodude.

“You can call him dustdude,” Robbin snickered.

Where Gavin is indifferent, Lucario seems grateful for Robbin's cheeriness. It must be something in her aura that calls to the canine... something Gavin lacks. She requests a fist bump, and the aura Pokemon's gaze flicks over to its master as if on instinct before it finds hers. There's gentleness in Lucario's movement as it mimics her, bumping its paw against her closed fist.

Gavin's attention is drawn by the comment. His lip quirks.

"I don't name them, but perhaps I'll make an exception," he jests.

From the water, a shape looms.

"Behind you," he warns.

Whistle. A brilliant burst of MYSTICAL FIRE clashes with a Dragalge's hydro pump, both attacks turning to steam with a violent hiss.

- Robbin almost got blasted by a hydro pump. Penni runs her to a safe distance while Jaws takes the fight.

Robbin knew better than to do what she had been doing for that exact reason, so she wanted to kick herself as she had to duck down in a panic from Gavin’s call.

A dragalge, quite large, came bursting from the waters to drill a hydro pump into the unsuspecting trainer’s back. The roserade countered with a hot burst of fire, causing goosebumps to rise on Robbin’s arms.

Penni was quick to be by Robbin’s side, sweeping her up and waddling her away to a safe distance. While Penni ran away Jaws ran forward towards the battle, the transition had little flaws, indicating that Robbin needed saving often from these two.

The dragalge used a smoke screen, a thick cloud forming around the water and spilling into the grass and route.

The mawile was hit with a feint attack, their eyes rolling back at the blow. He was hit a second time, after being stunned by the first and unable to dodge.

“Move, NOW!” Robbin shouted like an angry mother, pissed that he was getting stuck in a loop of feint stuns, an easy gimmick he had to overcome. Jaws rolled, missing a third attack.

“Play rough and pin them down!” With a mixture of smoke from smokescreen and dust from the beat down of play rough the outcome was unclear until everything settled. The dragalge was pinned to ground with a few, very prominent, bite tears in their fins. She threw her ball and would hope it would naturally heal.

“Thanks for the heads up,” Robbin said to Gavin and the roserade.

“Probably would have had a hole going through me if I got blasted,”

While not as efficient as a Pokemon with teleportation or even protection moves, Gavin notes the Empoleon's haste to defend her trainer. That was good.

Her Mawile seemed to be faring poorly against Dragalge, but without request, further assistance from Gavin would not come. He watches as they struggle against one another, squinting as if in hopes he might see through the smokescreen, but the victor is clear when it dissipates.

Sloppy, but a victory.

"You should always be on high alert in the wild."

“I know,” Robbin sighed defeatedly despite her victory. That would have left a mark if that hydro pump had landed in the middle of her back. She had three pokemon now to add to her collection which was at a slow but steady pace. She smiled gleefully at the three of them before shoving them into her side pouch and pulling a fourth out.

A Tyrunt came stamping around, their feet and head too big for their small body but still they moved. There was also a mawile, but she paid no attention to it as she had Jaws already with her-- and he tended to get a little jealous.

“It’s Penni’s turn again,” She said harshly to Jaws who was winding up for combat. He sighed, but no retaliation was to be seen besides angrily sweeping at the grass with his foot.

“How big do these guys get?” Robbin asked, a perhaps murderous intention in her eyes.

Gavin tucks his hand into his blazer, seeming to search around for a moment before his fingers curl around a particular pokeball. He tosses the capsule, and the earth shakes under the weight of the Tyrantrum that's released.

A single snap of her STRONG JAWS scoops up the Mawile, FIERY FANGS melting through steel and hide before she shakes her head like a dog and tosses the now-unconscious creature aside.

"Pretty big."

Around eight feet tall and full of muscle.

“I know,” Robbin Robbin bit the knuckle of her pointer finger white as Gavin casually threw out the older version of Tyrunt. The rumbling made her heart vibrate with excitement. Not only was it somehow perfectly timed for her question, but it was blue! She had to think for a moment and remember that they were normally red.

Gavin was a pocket of wonderful and beautiful pokemon, if he looked he would see a green look smoldering for a brief moment when she realizes it’s not her with the pokemon but someone else.

Robbin couldn’t describe what Gavin’s pokemon did to the wild mawile anything other than they murdered it. She was wowed, dazzled, awestruck, all of the above.

Jaws, absolutely terrified after watching one of his own get murdered in a fiery mess, ran to the safety of Robbin. “C’mon Jaws, you’re saying you can’t beat up an eight foot dinosaur that has a built in steel type smelter?” Robbin teased. “What happens if we have to fight Gavin, now he knows what one you’re scared of,” The mawile lightly slapped their trainers hand as if to tell them to shut up.

Penni, who went wide-beaked in either awe or panic at the prehistoric shiny pokemon, was now bloated with confidence having to just fight the itty bitty version of that beast. He was ready to take on the world. The wild pokemon seemed awed by their older, odd colored, brethren.

“Let’s get us one of those, yeah?” Robbin said to Penni who nodded.

“Hydro Pump!” Robbin demanded.

Ploop!

“...”

Shot by a tumbling force the tyrunt was blasted into the nearby water and started to panic drown, water gushing into their gaping mouth as they tried crying for help. Robbin threw her ball, laughing hysterically as their little arms tried to do something in the water.

A smile tempts as Jaws retreats toward their trainer.

"She won't hurt you."

Though Gavin was not short, Tyrantrum still towered over him. Her jaws part to reveal razor-sharp teeth still crackling with flame as he approaches. He reaches up to run a hand beneath her jaw and she grumbles content.

@robbin captures another member of her team, and Gavin turns to shoo a Nosepass who's stumbled too close for comfort.
