a training montage in a wild area that consists of pokemon that are supposed to be strong against his pokemon's typing was a good idea at first, until he realizes that his urshifu's natural superiority over regular pokemon, alongside the difference between a wild pokemon and a trained pokemon, closes the gap too much.

the gap wasn't even closed. his urshifu has straight up overshot against most of them.

he shakes his head as he mulls over his mistake, but at the very least, it was a better alternative than letting his own pokemon spar in his backyard and make a massive mess.

before hee can eeveen make a deecision, kyle sees that his urshifu was already distracted by the first thing he sees in the route. a pokemon with obvious type advantages stands before it, though kyle's not to worried after his pokemon had already showed its prowess against wild pokemon.

he waits to see what it's urshifu would do. his pokemon normally wait for a command from their trainer unless faced with a situation that needed abrupt action, though the fighting-type doesn't seem to share that trait.

kyle basically needs to get a command off faster than the urshifu can decide on its own.

the fighting-type quickly unleashes an aerial ace at the exeggutor, who had wasted its few precious seconds trying to frisk its opponent. obviously, it didn't find anything but a sweet release in unconsciousness.

the simisage was supposed to have a fifth move since the event cycle gives bonuses to both fairy and grass-types, but kyle ignores it because he doesn't have ooc knowledge.

not like it'll matter since his urshifu will just knock it out in one hit before it can show them off.

the urshifu goes for a swift aerial ace at its neck, almost breaking it had it not been a pg-13 pokemon roleplay site. kyle watches its body flop to the ground and then turn his head away from it, pretending nothing happen.

"okay, so, i think we exhausted everything we can learn from fighting trash mobs," he tells his urshifu.

as if the term 'trash mob' was the trigger word, a cutifly comes flying straight at them. there's bloodlust in its eyes, intent on bringing down the big bara bear top dom urshifu.

unfortunately for the bug-type, a quick swat of an aerial ace from the urshifu would've broken a lot of its bones if it had any. it falls on the ground with a splat, which kyle feels bad for.

"please don't kill the wildlife," he tells his urshifu. "let's not get in trouble, yeah?"

kyle captures the cutiefly in a pokeball since he's afraid people will think of him as a sadist that enjoys brutalizing small, wild pokemon if there was no other intent than harm.
