The Safari Zone is not meant for excursions at night. This cycle, an exception is made due to the abundance of nocturnal Pokemon that call this place home. When the calendar aligns, so does Fernando, using this as an opportunity to test the extent of his powers.

From the mist comes the deceased specter of his Garchomp. It’s nothing more than a phantom for now, congealed from the pink mist of his terrain. And, for the most part, that’s enough.

Garchomp comes back to life. It’s bite is just as lethal as before. Fernando stares, impressed but far from surprised. The connection between the lunar cycle and Tapu Fini remains uncharted. All he knows is that instinct tells him he can do something more.

For now a Pokeball is the most he coms out with.

THE GARCHOMP DISSIPATES WHEN IT’S OPPONENT FALLS. He cannot maintain the body for long. It wanes with the moon, invisible in the night sky. But the fact it manifest at all opens a world of new possibilities. He just needs to spend the next year perfecting it.

FERNANDO IS TOO CAUGHT UP IN HIS THOUGHTS TO REALLY PROCESS ANYTHING ELSE. Pandora’s box has been pried open and the world will know misfortunate. All he needs is the proper tools to expand his repertoire for something more practical. Until then.

On autopilot, Fernando takes a random Pokeball off his belt to dispatch the glowing Minior in front of him. His Nagaladel, starved for combat, is eager to comply. As the only source of light in the pitch black night, the Ultra Beast has no issues with letting its stinger pierce through the meteor’s crusted shield.

Fernando twists his hands, attempting to bring out a Megalopolan this time around to no avail. Even his mist seems to sputter into nothing as his powers slumber in exhaustion.

HIS POWERS FAIL BUT HIS POKEMON DO NOT. Wherein Fernando fails to summon anything else, the Naganadel brings back not one but two Minior. These glowing targets are impossible to miss. So when presented with another, the Ultra Beast makes quick work at corroding its outter defenses with potent toxins.

Fernando captures both without hesitation.

Very good, actually. These Ultra Beast may have lost their otherworldly luster but they still prove dependable. Moreso than regular Pokemon. He may not appreciate the playful nature of their larvae form, Poipole, but the born predatory nature of Nagaladel match his style of raising Pokemon.
