There no need for explicit supervision; anyone capable of passing Silph’s brand of qualification knows to treasure the opportunity presented. Hierarchy is respected and he puts his faith in those who carry out the company’s name.

However, there are exceptions.

A remote broom closet sits at the end of the second floor. No one really questions its use. Janitors seldom visit. Neither do the administration team. This temple, an abode for the solitary, is left untouched.

Fernando squeezes into the makeshift computer lab with practiced silence. He lifts each foot with intent, keeping his eyes on his steps to avoid tripping over the many wires that run between terminals and servers. He crosses the distance to her desk in strung out minutes.

“Yui!”

His voice is a sharp ruler against the edge of her desk. Finding her sleeping, during business hours much less, is grounds for a rude awakening. His eyes narrow down at her sullen face, sneering from above, waiting for her to come to.

She was so exhausted lately, Athena's meetings and work had been taking out a lot of work time for her. She tried to catch up during the day but it also meant sacrificing some of her sleep schedule. [break][break]

Her "broom" closet was pretty comfy, it was private and no one ever was allowed to visit her office so she turned it into her own personal comfy area with a bunch of her pokemon lounging around as well. Her pikipek and chatot having fun in the corner. Kecleon practicing it's color changing, and her dedenne running around zapping the energy away from a nearby double A battery. [break][break]

However all of her Pokémon heard footsteps nearby and when they spotted Fernando they all scrambled away to behind her. She instantly snapped away and shouted "IMYUIFUJINSILPHFERNANDO'SSISTER" she screams as Fernando scared the absolute daylights out of her. She realized where she was after looking around, Fernando visited her office for once? Ughhh...of course he did.

THE INCLUSION OF POKEMON IN THE WORKPLACE IS TYPICAL. Nothing about it goes against Silph Co.’s policy. However, to let them run amuck is a privilege set for those that Fernando curries. This nepotism, based solely on her use, is why he keeps her tucked away in secret.

Yui gathered herself together and composed herself. She was at work, she had to be professional right now and she was spectacularly failing at it right now. "Sorry. I was having a...nightmare." she explained as she wiped her face with her hands to wake herself up as Codey came back with the floating cup of coffee and an obscene amount of sugar and cream added in. The coffee was floating steadily as it was obvious he had many times to perfect this maneuver. She looked at him before taking a sip of it. Wondering if she should or not. [break][break]

On one hand she was behind on her work, and he was already going to be extremely pissed that she was asleep at work. Then again stepping out of her office to go grab food would be an easy way to wake herself up and not fall asleep again, a believable excuse. "I have work I could get done, but since it's not every day I get to eat with you, how could I deny?" she says as the dopamine from him visiting her slowly woke her up. [break][break]

She recalled all of her Pokémon back into their balls as she'd NEVER let them run around by themselves. Who knows what kind of shenanigans they'd get up to without he watching. She grabs her coat "Lunch room? Or?" she asked curiously wondering what Fernando had in mind to eat.

THE MENTION OF NIGHTMARES IS A MISSED CONNECTION. Unlike her, Fernando rarely dreams. The unravel of the subconscious comes from deep sleep, one of the few luxuries he cannot afford. So when he suffers through one recently, the uptick in their occurrence should be a tipping point. However, without guidance, the clue slips right between their conversation.

“How much can you get done sleeping?” His accusation is pointed but lacks any real anger. To refuse him is one thing. To refuse him on some bullshit answer is another matter entirely.

The smell of her coffee burns a rumble in his stomach. It stirs his appetite and serves as a reminder he’s gone without food for much to long.

“Out. You pick, my treat,” he answers with a curtness this both parallels and contrasts his date with Melody Miro.

"True. It'll wake me up." It was unlike her to be like this at work, especially in front of him. She reeled back a bit despite the fact she knew he wasn't exactly anger, it felt more like disappointment and she hated to disappoint him. It's was a place close to Silph co called mac and chess, around 10 minutes via car. she loved to come here whenever she had free time with FERNANDO SILPH or Stormy Silph They had a wide variety of pastas and Mediterranean food but more importantly they had board games and Yui's favorite, Chess. She loved to play with him and it was a special occasion so what better place to spend time with him. "They have some new items I wanna try. A mac and cheese that has pieces of Corphish meat." she tells him as she slowly grew excited and awaking from her slumber state. [break][break]

It's a trendy spot with not a lot of people at the moment since it was lunch time and most came at night for the drink specials. Each table had their own board game ready to go while patrons played while waiting for their food. Upon seeing Yui the hostess regarded her warmly "Hey yu! Came to pla-" she said before spotting Fernando and realizing Yui brought a special guest. "Oh! Fernando silph! Hello! Please come this way you two." [break][break]

FERNANDO COULD CARE LESS WHAT THEY EAT. It’s the company that means something.

Whether their food tastes like dogshit or is palpable remains to be seen but contrary to popular perception, Fernando’s acceptable threshold is surprisingly low. His little lunch date with Melody Miro proves more that even the quaintest food is worth swallowing.

“I was born into that. I don’t have a choice.”

Fernando takes the seat opposite of hers. He allows her to thumb through the pieces as they’re sorted out. “But no,” once the pieces are laid out he starts to organize the pawns onto his side of the field. Feeling their orb shaped heads between his fingers begs for them to be popped.

“I could care less.”

FERNANDO MAKES THE FIRST MOVE WITHIN SECONDS. Hardly a thought goes into it as he indulges into a textbook opening. Yui will remember it from their advance studies into professional players of the past. The move is both flexible but easily recognized.

“Everyone at the company works hard and I appreciate that.”

He taps a small timer on the other end of the board to tick down her time. There’s plenty for both of them to think out their moves but Fernando sets his pace almost immediately.

“And in exchange for their time and commitment we reward them handsomely so they do not have to worry about trivial matters such as chores and obligations.”

He maintains eye contact.

“But that doesn’t seem to be the case with everyone.”
