It was time for another hike at this strange place.

He knew that he was close to where dragons were known to make their roost, however he had yet to encounter one of them in the wild.

Maybe they really were as rare as they had been in Kanto?

But—this wasn’t Kanto.

The only option he had now was to keep looking, even if it would take forever to find one.

Weapon strapped to his back, he began his hike around the area.

The sound of clattering rock is the giveaway he’s strayed too close to a wild Pokémon’s nesting grounds.

Jumping out of the way in time, he then spotted a familiar sight, a Rhyhorn—

Despite its size, the Rhyhorn suddenly charged toward him in a Horn Drill attempt. Wow, without even waiting for him to defend himself?

A Frogadier emerged in mid-air, before quickly opening fire with a singular blast of Hydro Pump at the incoming Rhyhorn; catching it full in the face.

A Smokescreen followed up a few moments afterward, disorienting the Rhyhorn—and providing them enough time to get away from the angry Ground-type.

The next thing he encountered was a Ground-type Pokémon, at least according to the Pokégear he’d pilfered to use for his own.

…while it did take a lot of data erasing just to ensure that it wouldn’t be traced to him.

This Pokémon looked… weird. Really weird.

It wasn’t on his ‘to look for’ list.

He then skirted around and continued his search.

It was like the stars aligned at that very moment, because the last Pokémon he would encounter was definitely something he was—looking for!

“Perfect,” he muttered quietly, throwing out a Dusk Ball and watching the red beam of light transform into his Frogadier.

Unlike Yamato, every other Pokémon he owned didn’t have a name so—

A singular sharp note cut the air, and just as the Sneasel had finished Honing its Claws and was charging at the Water-type with a Fury Swipes attack, a singular blast of high-pressure water blasted it backwards and into a nearby rock.

Ah, the power of Hydro Pump was a sight to behold, wasn’t it.

Angry, yowling noises came from the Sneasel as it continued its Furious Swiping rage, only to get knocked back by a second blast of water; and before a third could strike it, a Pokéball’s thrown.
