“Excuse me.” Quinn approached the Silph Co. information desk with a friendly smile spread across his lips. “I have a delivery from the Weather Institute!” The woman behind the counter turned slightly to glance at the monitor of her computer before looking back at him. “Doctor Riley, correct?” An enthusiastic nod preceded Quinn hefting the metal briefcase onto the counter, clicking the locks open and displaying the contents to her. “A shipment of ten Castform, as promised!” She accepted the briefcase with a far more professional expression on her face, gesturing to one of the nearby security guards to pass along the package. “Mr. Silph and the research department thanks you, have a nice day.”

A look indicated that he should leave the building if business was concluded, and Quinn wasn’t intending on staying any longer than needed. “You too, have a wonderful evening!” Stepping through the double doors back into the streets of Slateport, a deep rumbling in his stomach reminded Quinn that he hadn’t eaten at all today. “Uhm, excuse me!” He attempted to get the attention of a man about his age with crimson hair that had been loitering around the building since before he’d entered. “Do you know a good place around here to eat? I’m starving.”

"Huh?" a stranger's voice pulled him away from his fangasm. What a handsome stranger it was too. The redhead smiled flirtatiously. He could step away from his gawking to show a pretty face around. It wasn't like he was finally going to muster the courage to step inside anyway.

“H-handsome?” A crimson flush rushed into his cheeks at the compliment, not used to being flirted with, especially by someone so attractive. “Thanks, you’re...uhm...pretty cute yourself.” Quinn wished he could be nearly as smooth as Kohen was while attempting to return the flirtations, but he didn’t really have much experience. “I’m Quinn.” He offered a shy smile while reaching out to take their calloused hand into his own, untouched by hard labor unlike Kohen’s, giving a cordial shake before returning to his side.

“I’ve been really craving a burger, to be honest. They don’t make them nearly as good in Fortree as they do in the big city.” A small chuckle escaped from his lips, rubbing the back of his head with a hand. “Would you mind showing me where I can get a good one?” Slateport outside of the University was largely a mystery to him, having focused on his studies when he attended the doctorate program. Besides, this could be a good excuse to spend more time with Kohen, which seemed extremely appealing right now.

"Please, flattery will get you everywhere." he chuckled, smiling brightly. Kohen leans back on his heels, the tips of his shoes lifting from the ground. Lips pucker as he whistles and shakes Quinn's hand.

He notes the soft texture of the man's skin. It fills his mind with perverse thoughts that bring his tongue running across his lips.

"If it's burgers you want, then you've come to the right guy." they were his favorite food. He'd hunted down the best place to get a cheeseburger the moment he made landfall in Hoenn. "I've been dying to show off this sweet burger joint I found." a quick swivel sends him spinning around.

A wave of his hand signals for Quinn to follow as Kohen starts to walk. "It'll be a bit before we get there. So why don't you tell me a bit about yourself, Q? Your dreams, hobbies - relationship status." you know, the important stuff.

    “Sounds good to me!” Quinn said with an excited smile, stepping quickly to follow after Kohen and keep pace with them. “Well, I’m kind of already living my dream, to be honest. I got my Doctorate in Meteorology a few months ago and I’ve been working for the Weather Institute ever since.” Ever since he was a child he’d had a fascination with the weather and how it affected the world around him, being able to study these phenomena for a living was the culmination of all his childhood fantasies.

    Hobbies, however, were a more difficult subject for him to broach. Quinn spent most of his waking hours at the Weather Institute the last few weeks, immersed in the strange hurricanes that had been appearing around Hoenn, leaving little time for extracurricular activities. “Hobbies...hmm...I like watching movies, swimming, video games, reading and music!” A few of them were common hobbies that any one person could have, but he didn’t want to leave Kohen hanging because he was self-conscious about the commonality of liking music.

    “O-oh, I'm uhm...single.” Heat rushed into his cheeks once more at the declaration, glad that he was a couple paces behind Kohen so it wasn’t obvious. “How about you?” Quinn had intended this to be all encompassing for all of the questions Kohen had previously asked, but the timing could easily be misconstrued as asking if they were also available.

"Oooh, so you work at the big building out by Fortree then, yeah?" he had been in Hoenn long, but he'd done his research. You couldn't waltz into a region blind now, could you? Well...you could, and Kohen had several times before, but that wasn't the point.

His lips spread into a broad smile, "Happy to hear that you're living your best life. You'd be surprised how many aren't." nothing was sexier than a man with goals and ambitions. He shook his head, however, as the man went on to explain his hobbies.

"What's with the basic answers? Gimmie some specifics, baby. What kind of video games and genre of music? Paint a portrait of yourself, gush!"

Kohen lifted his arms, resting his hands on the back of his neck as he walked. "Like, my hobbies are fly fishing and pyrotechnics. Rock and metal are my favorite genres of music. Nothing beats a cheesy action or horror movie for me." and, of course, the most important thing.

"Oh, and I've got no boo. So, you know, if you're in the market." Kohen winks.

“O-oh, specifics...right…” Quinn was noticeably embarrassed at providing non-sufficient answers, especially considering Kohen seemed genuinely interested in him. “I mostly listen to Pop and Rock, myself.” He smiled softly, admittedly it was nice to talk about himself for once to someone who would listen. “Reading, I’m a big fan of those crime novels. I love those kinds of mysteries, you know?”

The smile on his face brightened when he mentioned a movie genre of mutual interest, becoming more giddy than before. “Horror movies! I love those too, but I'm usually too scared to watch them by myself.” Kohen mentioned being on the market with a wink, a not-so-subtle indication that he could potentially change that. “I’m uhm...i-in the market.”

Kohen whistles, "You like a good mystery, huh?" a toothy grin expands along his face. "We'll have to go to one of those mystery rooms together sometime then." he chuckles.

Have they finished the first 'date' yet? No. Is that going to stop him from planning the next? Never. Why wouldn't Quinn agree to see him again? Kohen was awesome. The perfect outgoing guy to get his new friend out of that shell of his.

"Hell yeah, I'll add a horror movie marathon to our list of future activities too." Kohen hums. "If you get too scared, you can cuddle with me. I'll keep you nice and safe." short of shouting, "Let's fuck." which he wasn't against doing, Kohen couldn't have been more forward.

There's an almost giddy skip to his step at Quinn's single status. "We should change that." Kohen grins. He wasn't talking boyfriend status - not yet. For as fast as the redhead moved, he knew some things required build-up. The occasional boning, on the other hand?

    “A mystery room? That sounds like fun, we should totally do that sometime!” Quinn was too excited about doing something new and cool sounding to realize that he’d essentially agreed to a second date. Of course, the giddy smile would be replaced by a sheepish one the moment the other mentioned cuddling, his cheeks being consumed by crimson once more. “O-oh yeah? That sounds really nice...” The idea of cuddling up to Kohen was a pleasant one, especially considering how attractive and kind the other man was.

    “I don’t have to go back to Fortree until tomorrow, maybe we can...do that tonight?” Quinn’s eyes diverted to the ground, not really used to being so forward when it came to romantic situations. Yet, he couldn’t resist wanting to spend more time with Kohen even though they barely knew each other. It was nice to have someone be so genuinely interested in him.

    “C-change that?” Once again he was easily flustered, this time by the implication of changing their relationship status to something more...shared. “M-maybe we...uhm...should.”
