The walk from the Safari Zone to Lilycove City is a peaceful one, quiet except for the occasional small neigh or cry of surprise from the tiny Ponyta at Jamie's side whenever something happens to spook her (such as, for example, her own shadow). James' smiles, not able to stop himself from finding Eloise's (as he has dubbed her) skittish behavior somewhat endearing and unbearably cute.

At least, it is until music begins to play from the beach nearby where several tents are set up and a large crowd has gathered out from, who let out a huge cheer. Startled, Eloise rears up and turns to run away in fear but James' catches her in time, swooping her up under his arm and pulling her close to his chest, shushing the young Pokemon. "It's alright, little one," he promises, running his fingers through her soft mane and pressing a comforting kiss to her forehead, relieved when Eloise's trembling body begins to slacken just slightly. "I bet you're used to the music of bird song and nature, not this noisy ruckus, aren't you?"

Jamie chuckles and makes to start towards the PokeCenter again but a blond mop of hair in the crowd catches his attention from the corner of his eye. "No..." he breathes, heart stopping when the figure the hair belongs to turns to the side and there's no doubting it who it is. James shifts Eloise's weight to one arm and fumbles his way down the hill to the beach.

He grabs the figure by the shoulder and roughly turns him to look at him, his eyes wild with panic and alarm. "Arthur?"

Excitement seemed to follow Artie wherever he went — and if it didn't, then Artie followed it. When he'd heard about the Hoenn Star Tournament back in Galar where he'd been summoned for the past several months, the blond boy could not help but immediately drop everything and — how did the commoners say it — dip? Surely, his mother hadn't been happy — or at least, she wouldn't have been, had she the chance to stop him before he so much as left.

[break][break] Once again leaving the messes up to the family butler to clean up. Somewhere, probably, a Galarian Headline was being released again — 'Prince Vanderbilt missing? Or Kidnapped?'

[break][break] Oh well.

[break][break] Either way, Artie found himself at a Horsea Tea in Hoenn, a pop-up drink stand that had just appeared in time for the festivities. Artie stood, handing over his Corvilknight Executive Platinum Card for payment, entirely unaware that stands like this did not accept card payment — or at least, he would have, had a voice suddenly not called to him.

[break][break] There was a hand on his shoulder, and the boy was being turned. First, Artie was a bit annoyed — who dare put their hand on him without his permission — which then softened into surprise and then eagerness. "Jamie!" he exclaimed, opening his arms wide for a hug. "What're you doing here?"
