Soleil had seen herself a request for photos of the inside of Shoal Cave during low tide, and was adamant about giving it a go for herself without bryan delarosa freaking out trying to keep her safe for once. She was able to take care of herself, and she didn't want him running himself ragged trying to keep her safe all the time, after all. Not to mention with how freakishly huge he'd gotten, he'd probably scare off all the cool and interesting pokémon she might end up finding. Nonetheless, Soleil had taken the job practically as soon as she saw it, she'd loved taking photos of things—little snippets of physical memory—and there was no way she was missing an opportunity to help someone by doing something she does best.[break][break]

Nonetheless, she'd been contacted and notified that someone else would be coming to help with taking pictures, and she'd been waiting for this person by the entrance to the seaside cavern. Thankfully the low tide had just begun, so they'd had plenty of time to try and take these pictures without worrying about being trapped... hopefully. Nonetheless, Soleil had waited, humming to herself to pass the time, taking some photos of the vast ocean expanding out in front of her—Mossdeep island included—thinking that maybe she'd want to come back to paint this or something. Whilst it was sunny enough that she absolutely would have loved to fall asleep here... there wasn't exactly anywhere dry nearby that she could sleep at, and the water taxi had already left a while ago. So here stood the pastel-haired girl, singing away to push out her restlessness about her inability to rest.

There's almost a hint of nostalgia in her voice as she leads the way through the icy tunnels, a camera safely slung across her torso with a strap as her gaze follows after the black woollen blob ahead of her. Ever since she'd scoped Shoal Cave out for a botanical expedition, she's been frequenting it much more often, always going back to the same spots to check if the seeds she's planted have germinated or simply withered away.

Perhaps, it's why she's taken up the mantle of being a photographer for the day, picking out a job to these icy caverns just to earn a little money on the side. Despite her wishes to render help to others where she can, she still does need ways to keep the food on her companion's plates. Up ahead, a low bleat rings out, calling for her attention as she picks up her pace.

"What did you find, Rubia?"

The question posed is more of a platform to appease the Wooloo's sense of independence than it is for her to catch onto the mysteries before them. In fact, her gaze is already locking on the restless girl standing at the cavern entrance as she sings a melody for the passing sea breeze. With an excited bleat and a hop, Rubia bounds over to the stranger and nudges them gently, attempting to catch their attention and perhaps, make a new friend today.

Lilith approaches soon after, her words seemingly stuck in her throat as she sways her weight from one foot to another.

"Are you... here to take photos too?"

As Soleil had awaited for her mystery photography partner, whilst occupying herself with her song and photos she'd considered what kind of person her partner would be, maybe it was another girl! Though it was rather cold... perhaps, a boy who'd tough through this kind of thing easily... or a sheep! Wait, what?[break][break]

Baaaaa.[break][break]

Soleil had been caught off guard, while she'd expected a lot of things, she hadn't exactly expected the bleating of a sheep pokémon out in the middle of the ocean, and especially not from the cave behind her. Yet there was that sound, and by the time she'd turned around, of all things, oop, "Hey there!" she'd greeted the Wooloo that had been nuzzling her—not that Soleil had known it was one, in fact the pastel-haired girl had been just about ready to check out what exactly it was with the pokédex app on her phone when she'd overheard its presumed owner calling out. Soleil crouched down with bouncy gusto to give the Wooloo a good pet, feeling it to be most appropriate to treat such an adorable gentle creature with respect before bouncing back up ready to greet the pokémon's owner.[break][break]

Though before she could introduce herself, she'd noticed the other girl's nervousness, and seemingly unconsciously mimicked her heel sway before she'd replied to the girl's question enthusiastically, "That'd be me! You can call me Soleil!" she'd went to try to take the girl's hand with both of hers for a playful handshake.

Oh no.

It isn't a sense of fear or discomfort that overwhelms her in that very moment but rather, a mild sheen of awkwardness that radiates off her as she freezes in place. Her hand is taken without much resistance, an off smile sliding upon her lips as part of her brain screams that it's time to run. But she doesn't, supposing it's somewhat rude. Instead, she abruptly pulls her hands away, shrugging her shoulders back and taking a deep breath in.

"Lilith." The introduction is kept brief, a surge of emotions including 'what the fuck' and 'why am I here' pelting her mind as she gestures to the Wooloo. "Rubia."

A soft breath, a silent prayer to the gods as she swears not to curse in front of this stranger.

"Should we get going?"

Soleil had frowned a little from the rather unexpected... disdain? Discomfort? Whatever it may have been, though she'd felt something gnawing at the back of her mind, though she'd at least felt the need to apologise, whatever she did perhaps she was a bit overbearing—she wasn't that good with people, after all, and had figured just being as friendly as she could be would always be enough.[break][break]

"R-right, sorry about that." she'd stammered out quietly, looking downwards into the water reflecting her visage back at her. Did I do something wrong? Does she hate me? I thought we could be friends... was I a bad person? Her heart pounding, a cold sweat, she'd felt paralyzed until Lilith had prompted her once more, she'd gasped—not out of surprise but rather a desperate one for air, though she'd hoped the girl couldn't tell the difference.[break][break]

"Y-yeah! Let's go!" she'd responded with a smile, it had felt a little hollow, but she didn't want to cause a scene with the stranger by breaking down from her own perceived loneliness, she wanted to be as happy and outgoing as she could be. Fake it 'til you make it, she didn't have that much time, but she didn't want to end up alone in the end anyway. With a smile that had felt so painfully fake to the pastel girl without her brother around to make it real, she'd followed behind Lilith, her phone in hand ready to take pictures.

[attr="class","hanatext"]Despite Soleil's best attempts to hide her emotions, she isn't quite ready to go up against someone who's read people for years. Her odd breathing and her smile is dissected as easily as they are observed, a soft sigh escaping parted lips as Lilith carefully sweeps loose strands of hair behind her ears.

"Don't worry about it. I'm just not used to people being touchy..." Taking charge has never been her best trait but if she's required to step up to the challenge, she sure as hell will. She gestures towards her Wooloo, "Rubia absolutely welcomes the attention though."

Having been mentioned, Rubia happily bleats in agreement, gently nuzzling Soleil as she urges for her to follow closely. After all, getting hurt whilst taking photos is most definitely not on the agenda.

"If you're out to make new friends... one good thing to know is that not everyone are as outgoing or friendly as you... it's like... meeting new pokemon. Everyone has different personalities and preferences, so learning how to comfortably interact with them is part and parcel of a good friendship."

The reassurance & advice she'd gotten had helped alleviate her worry—the Wooloo's playfulness had also helped. Taking one last deep breath to calm her nerves, she'd felt herself able to smile more properly, "that's a good point... I guess I never really considered that, I haven't really met anyone like that..." she'd clarified, adding the final part with a nervous laugh.[break][break]

"So, Lilith, what should I be keeping an eye out for?" Soleil had wondered, she was excited to take photos, but she did want to make sure to stay safe and avoid any sort of injury, she'd heard the caverns were cold enough that there'd be ice covering the floors, and that she might have to worry about slipping. Nonetheless she'd followed closely, feeling herself reassured to be around another person and their pokémon.

[attr="class","hanatext"]It doesn't come across as a surprise - From the way she holds herself despite appearances to her attention span and way of speech, Lilith deals with someone who has most likely been sheltered from the world for years. She's new to human interaction and thus presents herself in such a fabricated manner to give a good first impression, perhaps even fit in. But there's a piece of the puzzle missing, something that motivates her to try her best to make friends of strangers instead of shy away behind familiar figures.

Familial restrictions? A sickliness that's only just cleared enough for her to walk? Perhaps, even a bucket list.

It's not her place to pry but she will entertain the idea of understanding another if only to occupy her mind.

"Don't worry, I'm not the only one so you'll have plenty of chances to practice." A mild form of reassurance or a warning about the world yet to be explored? Regardless of how her partner takes it, Lilith is well aware that filling someone else's mind with uncertainties really isn't something pleasant so she sets the topic aside for now.

"Well... anything of interest to you I guess? Pokemon in their natural habitat and how they behave beyond the prying eyes of prospective trainers. Interactions between organism and environment or even just a piece of the scenery."

Of course, she refuses to mention the possibility of illegal activities happening in these caves. After all, those rumours are for her to pursue in her own time without having to worry about the safety of others. Gripping her camera carefully, Lilith turns on her heels and faces Soleil, capturing the sight with a quick click of the button - The beginning of a trainer's adventures.

"Whatever you think would be a nice way to express what Shoal Cave is all about."

Soleil smiled in response to Lilith's mention, she'd felt reassured more than anything else by it—not even really aware of any potential underlying meaning behind it. With another pass by, she'd smiled down at Rubia who'd happily bleated up at her, she couldn't help but grin happily, the Wooloo was absolutely adorable.[break][break]

Nodding as she listened to Lilith's explanations with an additional 'mhm', 'yup' and various other sounds of affirmations, the nod somewhat unnecessary considering Lilith was leading mostly, though more of a reflex than anything else. Ultimately, Soleil had been caught by surprise at the sudden turn and snap from Lilith. Her wide-eyed half-smile, half-shock in an attempt to gather herself when she'd had an inkling of what Lilith was up to immortalised by that photo.[break][break]

After a brief pause to process what had happened, Soleil laughed—a genuine laugh at the idea of how silly she must have looked.[break][break]

"Thanks a lot, Lilith, let's see... I guess I'd wanna explore the place a little more before I decide on what to snap... I heard it gets really cold and rare pokémon show up deeper inside, right? Spheals are something I wanna see too!"

[attr="class","hanatext"]To think about what one is looking for. It's a concept that far contrasts Lilith's belief of serendipity at its finest. Nevertheless, she's not one to voice opinions that don't quite matter, neither does she feel like addressing a panic attack at the present moment.

Instead, she looks to her partner, tilting her head towards the darkened tunnels ahead.

That said, she may be a little concerned as to whether Soleil's clothes will keep her warm enough the further they descend. A slight glance towards Rubia allows her to convey the thought and the Wooloo agrees in her own way, keeping close to the girl with her woollen coat. As they walk, Lilith is keeping an eye out for movement, the clicking of camera shutters being the only noise she gives off as she treads lightly.

With a series of choices down forked tunnels, the cave begins to open, the dim atmosphere seeming to lighten up as the smallest bits of surface light reflect off crystalline walls. The ice gleams with a soft blue hue, as if made of pure larimar - A winter wonderland hidden from prying eyes, a place that is not sought after but chanced upon.

Tugging at her camera straps, Lilith doesn't miss her chance to immortalise this fairytale. And perhaps, Soleil may have found something of interest too.

From the shadows, curious eyes watch their every movement, their voices silenced by the sheer oddity of their visitors.

Even without a reply, Soleil had followed along behind her new companion, whilst it seemed Lilith and her Wooloo had been somewhat concerned about Soleil's ability to keep warm, under her hoodie she'd practically had been a marshmallow! At least 4 different layers including the hoodie—though her legs were a little chilly even with an extra layer, but nothing too bad that she'd complain or anything![break][break]

Soleil had gone with the more amateur route, using her smartphone for photography rather than a regular camera, snapping a variety of photos as they delved deeper into the caverns, rime and frost coalescing upon the stone that surrounded them, a wondrous if not strange sight in particular captivating the sunny girl; stalactites forming from the ceiling of the cold white cavern, what seemed like a normal occurrence, though what had caught Soleil's interest was that there had been some made entirely of crystal clear ice—clearly icicles, yet as massive as the spears of stone that hung from up above, a brief appreciative[break][break]

"Woah..."[break][break]

escaping Soleil's mouth, her gaze focused more on this strange spectacle and to take a good photo to make sure she did it justice than what seemed to lurk just beyond in the shadows.
