Heh. Nice. No, not his chuckle. She wasn’t some young maiden with great dimples that would be instantly smitten by a cute smile, after all. And while she had requited his laugh with a smirk of her own, she was much more interested in what he revealed in the following.
An uncertainty. A weakness. A chink in the armor that could be exploited. That turned that smirk very, very subtly into a devious one. Then, she briefly put a finger onto her lips, wistfully thinking for a bit. “Hmm, but you know what they say. Absolute power absolutely corrupts. Once you do have access to it, you might know what to do with it – but only because having that kind of power makes it easy to use it. ‘When all you have is a dragon….” She started, making it sound like a certain idiom in the process.

“Not saying that you have to become one who abuses that sort of power. But as a student of literature, I have read the tale quite a few times. If you ask me, you truly should figure out what you want to do with power before you attain it. Climbing a mountain is fine without knowing to do at the peak. There is little wrong you can do there. Seducing a guy or girl without much of a plan is fine. Intuition can take over at the end. But this sounds more like buying a gun. You really should know what you want to do with it before going through with the purchase. And probably take a gun safety course first. Though I am not sure they offer those for ancient legendary dragons with powers beyond imagination.” She chuckled on that. A little joke to take the edge off. But she did try to make a point regardless. Hopefully, that would hit home to some extend.

Hook, line, sinker. At least that was how she interpreted what was happening here. This man did not seem like a playboy, given how he’d behaved so far, so it was probably at least somewhat noteworthy that he asked her out just like this. At the very least, she was leaving an impression. One that would either strengthen later, or turn into the complete opposite – depending on how she chose to play this. After all, while he allowed at least a little vulnerability, she was still mostly just here for kicks. Just like what happened a lot of the time, Vio had no grand plan or anything like that. She was just going to play this by ear. Which might end up hurting this man.

Though, naturally, material gifts and freebies always went a long way dissuading her from doing so. “I do try to be. Though, admittedly, not everyone has such a favourable opinion of me as you do.” There was a brief thought in the direction of a woman that certainly did not share this sentiment, but it was brushed away just as quickly as it had come by. Mostly because, frankly, that had only gone south once she’d stopped trying to pleasant and allowed herself to be completely honest. Turned out that she, too, could be hurt that way.

Hence, she was certainly not in for a repeat here. “You know what? Why not. I have nothing in particular planned for tonight. At least nothing I cannot just as well do tomorrow. And you do seem pleasant as well. So I am willing to accept your invitation.” She smiled, then turned said smile into a smirk. “Though you might regret accepting my tutelage. I do tend to help others to passing grades at least, but I can be very, very strict in those regards.”
