electivire stands betweem them, feeding off the electricity of the crowd. sparks dance across its body as it CHARGES, preparing for what's to come.

like his pokemon, matias takes in the cheers of the crowd. he offers them a glance, a wave, and nothing more. his eyes fall back to villetta, challenging.

This was her element. The cheers of the crowd, the intensity of knowing her every move and attack was being judged. Her heart raced with bitter excitement.

She missed home.

Vivi's expression is stoic as the Heracross in front of her Swords Dances. Matias assumes this is a friendly bout, but nothing about combat is kind.

Still, she enjoys the bet enough to crack-wise. "Sure, just know I'll be picking some place expensive when I win."

The broad area that Discharge covers limits Heracross's ability to dodge. He takes the blast of electrical energy, but he handles it well. A beat off his wings pushes away the residual sparks that surround him.

Those same wing beats carry him forward like a bullet with his head lowered. Megahorn ready to slam straight into Electivire's torso.

the electivire stands its ground, feet digging into sand, and holds strong against the impact of the MEGAHORN. it gasps for air, wind knocked out of its torso, but it reaches its arms out and claps them to send a THUNDER WAVE pulsing.

Stoic features give way to a grin the moment Electrive's hands start to crackle.

"Gotcha." Vivi muses, watching as the Thunder Wave connects. Heracross's body twitches with the sting of Paralysis. He'll be moving slower from now on, but Guts bolsters his strength.

Another Megahorn comes swiftly after the first. This time, rather than impale, Heracross attempts to toss Electrive behind him and onto the ground.

Another wave of electricity surges through Heracross's body. He spasms as his wings beat uncontrollably. With gritted teeth, he pushes through the pain. A flick of his arm through the air brushes aside the lingering static that surrounds him.

"Does he know any other attacks, or are you only going to use the one?" Vivi teases with a grin.

"Heracross aim for the throat this time." a firm order swiftly executed. Or it would be if Heracross's muscles hadn't suddenly locked up. In other words,

Heracross is paralyzed! It can't move!

"That's more like it!" she whistles.

Electivire closes the distance in the blink of an eye. Still paralyzed, Heracross takes the Thunder Punch with gusto. His knees buckle, and sparks fly as the fist hits him square in the chest.

The beetle's muscles relax, allowing him to move once more. It's time to take advantage of how intimate he and his opponent have become. Heracross grabs hold of Electivire's arm with fluttering wings.

Using all of his strength, he attempts to lift the Pokemon into the air and slam it back down with Aerial Ace.

A clashing of punches, what an interesting tactic. Vivi smiled, excitement hitting her like a tidal wave. "Do better Heracross." she ordered, "I know you can." and the beetle could.

He darted back and then rushed forward, Throat Chop aimed to silence.
