The dusk, nest, and primer pokéballs in Sam's hand are juggled just a little. He doesn't mind Kyle take snapshots of his pokémon. He's learned to try not to judge people by what they do, because actions can be as fake as anything else. Or, misleading.

"Yeah," the offer to the pokémon center is taken eagerly. "That's where I was headed anyway. Be knew to have company other than my pokémon."

It wasn't meant to say he was lonely or any of the above. Really? Sam was just saying the first thing that came out of his mouth and usually his stoic tone made him sound depressed.

he honestly was more of a loner kind of guy, but it just seemed like common courtesy to ask. maybe he shouldn't have since the other person seemed to be the same, but it's too late to back out now.

"at least we already tried that 'rotation battle' thing out. can't wait to never do it again in the remainder of this festival," he tells him, making small talk.

he'd rather stick to quick fights like singles or doubles. at least those don't have the complicated things that having three pokemon out brings.

No thank you, not ever again. Not just because he'd lost the battle, just because he wasn't a fan of the complications of the rotation and honestly the amount of time it took.
