He's lived in Hoenn for years, but Liam King is a foreigner; he plays dumb.

"Mt. Pyre. Which one's that?"

He casts his cast toward the distant silhouettes of the two mountains that dominate Hoenn's tropical landscape. He'd ascended Pyre not long ago, had nearly felt the mountain crumble down on top of him as they fought among its graves.

No doubt Sam's been dealing with the aftermath of that fight, shattered headstones and angered spirits.

Oops.

"Is it the accent?" he jests. "Surprising amount of tourists for this event, I'm impressed."

"Might have been a giveaway."

The accent-- though, Sam's small smirk shows his sarcasm. It wasn't the accent that gave him away. It was the blonde's aura. Sam's not psychic, by any means, but he can tell an experienced trainer from a newbie. He'd seen enough of both in his line of work.

"Apparently it really brings a great deal of people out of the woodwork."

Sam wasn't a 'returning trainer' by any means. He was just Sam. New to the region and coming in when it was clearly handling one of the biggest events the region had ever thrown.

No way to better experience a culture than head first. And he was meeting a great deal of people, making a great deal of connections, through it all.

The PA system calling his name had him cutting the conversation short.

"I apologize Mr. King, but that's me."

With a smile, he nodded and gave a departing wave.

"Best of luck on your next match."
