Combat boots on glass make an interesting sound. The soles thump but the glass accents it nicely. A soft clink that contrasts with the heavy footfalls in a way that interests Plank.

As she walks the long, transparent bridge she tries out different step cadences. Steady, strong steps. Lighter sauntering. She even skips once or twice.

It's a moment of levity she needs. Has needed. She had to wait for all the bruising to her face to go down before taking the gym challenge again, which is a real shame because the perfect thing to take her mind off of everything would have been this joke of a gauntlet.

"Bonnie Taylor," she says simply as she approaches the gym's front desk, her fake trainer ID (stamped with her fabricated identity on the front) held between two fingers. She hands it over casually, not in the slightest bit nervous. Plank knows Cillian Quinn's best put it together; and she knows now better than ever that he accepts nothing but perfection.

"Right this way, the show is about to begin." the assistant says as she hands "bonnie taylor" her V.I.P pass for the day. The assistant then guided her to the proper hallway and waved her off "Good luck!" she says as the trainer made her way down the hall as directed. As she got closer and closer the sound of cheering would become more and more booming. [break][break]

As Bonnie Taylor walked to the main battle arena she would see melody performing on the stage with her guitar in hand and a huge crowd cheering her on as she played her music. She stopped once the girl reached her spot to stop walking Melody would stop as her toxtricities continued to play behind her. [break][break]

Her headset turned on as "Yo!" she'd say as she wore an oversized jacket that was open and a black tanktop with black and white spots on it and black accessories which screamed rock get up. " Welcome to the Sootopolis gym! Everyone give it up for our challlenger!" She shouts over the speakers as the crowd eats it up and let out an extremely loud roar. [break][break]

After they stop screaming she then speaks again "Alright challenger, send out your pokemon whenever you're ready! Let me know if you have any questions" She tells her as she watches eagerly to see which combination the girl would send out first from the team preview. An assistant also rushed up to Peggie's side and handed her a microphone to speak as well if she so desired.

[attr="class","sunshine"]Plank's hands find easy homes in her pockets as she makes her way towards the raucous sound of people. Lots of people. Where the battle against Verdanturf's gym leader had been fairly casual, held in an honest to god gym with only so many eyes as were already there for one reason or another, apparently the one here in Sootopolis has a proper audience. It sends a little thrill down her spine.

Music isn't Plank's thing, never has been, but there's something about the tail-end of the gym leader's performance that strikes a chord with her. Nothing special. She isn't awed or emotional to behold it; but it's nice enough to get her blood pumping even harder. Maybe it's just the idea that she's going to need to keep the audience as entertained with their battle as they are with Miro's concert.

The greeting from the leader is met with a lazy wave from Plank, no words. It's not like she has a mic, too. Instead she makes it clear she can hear the gym leader's directions through action. Both hands dip into her pockets again before producing two pokeballs. She tosses them both into the ring.

Queenie, her Kingdra, and her Lanturn, Livewire, reveal themselves in two brilliant flashes of white. They offer nothing to the audience but their appearance as they float around one another, waiting to see what they'll be up against in the coming fight.

Strong yet silent type huh? Oh well that's just how some people were! Melody was sure she'd talk eventually to her Pokémon! R-Right? Regardless of her own worries the show had to go on and so Melody looked at her opponent's team. She absolutely adored water Pokémon, she raised her hands and snapped her fingers as the audience mimicked her movements as they were well aware of what it meant. [break][break]

The floor opened up revealing the ocean to plank and the roof opened as well as fire launched from the stage for dramatic effect. Several small circle platforms also sprinkled through out the stage appeared to float up as Melody tossed out one pokeball and whistled. Obstagoon appeared on one of the platforms and let out a ferocious roar and from above a mysterious blob zoomed past the crowd and landed on a separate platform as Melody's speedy noivern made it's appearance. [break][break]

"All right then! Let's get this show on the road! You have the first move!" she offered as Noivern flapped it's wings and took to the sky and strummed her guitar to the song.

[attr="class","sunshine"]The rising music and the transforming stage both only heighten the quiet buzz of energy running under Plank's skin. She puts her hands on her hips and breathes out hard while trying to repress a smirk. She's not here to have fun, she's here for that badge. Nevertheless, one foot taps steadily along with the beat of the drum hidden behind the guitars.

She narrows her eyes at the gym leader's pokemon as they appear, then shuts them completely in thought when she's given the first move. Takes a deep breath. After a couple seconds she exhales and opens her eyes. The wait isn't long but it's necessary. She can't get reckless and get caught in a trap like she did against noah faber.

"Let's go!" she shouts to her pokemon and both dive into the waiting pool of water, "Set up the rain 'n' let's start pressurin' her flyin' rat!"

The shadows that betray her Kingdra and Lanturn's positions under the water take two radically different paths. The latter swims off into an open, out of the way space. There her shadow moves in lazy, wobbly circles. RAIN DANCE. Immediately above Livewire, clouds form before rapidly spreading across the battlefield. For the combatants, the blaring music is muffled somewhat by the sound of countless raindrops hitting the water of the pool.

The former shadow, Queenie's, rockets off the moment the rain starts. Already the Kingdra was feeling at home in the water, but the rain bolsters her speed and comfort. SWIFT SWIM allows her to make a mad dash into firing range of the Noivern. There's a flash of light under the water's surface before a DRAGON PULSE bursts forth -- sending a spray out in all directions as it rockets towards the Dragon-type.

Kingdra was not only going to be able to keep up with noivern's speed in the sky, but be able to surpass it even further as long as he was able to stay in the water. The dragon pulse makes contact with noivern's body sending it flying back a bit, it was effective! "Noivern! Grab onto obstagoon and take to the skies!" she orders as noivern swoops down and picks up the fellow rocker pokemon. [break][break]

"Now let's cause some chaos guys! You ready?! Noivern super sonic em both! Obstagoon! Taunt the lanturn!" she orders as both of her pokemon comply. Obstagoon yells some profanities at the lanturn in it's animalistic tongue and Noivern amps up the volume of it and distorts that sound with it's ears and creates a strange rhythmic tone and blasts it in the water at both pokemon. [break][break]

Melody did take note of how her opponent spoke to her pokemon, sometimes trash talk could be a good thing! It unifies the pokemon and trainer against a common enemy. Good! Talking is good!

[attr="class","sunshine"]Despite her attempts to keep a cool head, Plank can't help but pump her fist when her first attack of the battle connects. For some it may seem like a drop in the ocean, but she relies on her offense hitting home from minute one. It's all about establishing pressure and momentum. That's all she knows how to do.

"That's it! Keep pilin' on, don't let 'im breath!" she shouts -- words equal parts encouragement and command.

Queenie and Livewire both prepare themselves to deliver another volley of attacks, but not before the gym leader cuts in with her own offensive. Plank's Lanturn has only just surfaced, sparks of electricity surging across her rubbery flesh, when she falls into the trap.

TAUNT pulls her attention to the Obstagoon. Rankles her enough that she doesn't turn away from the SUPERSONIC that scrambles her brain immediately after. The sounds of the stadium fade away and are replaced by ringing as the battlefield doubles and spins around her. When the static that surrounds her flares up, building into an attack, for a moment it surges dangerously.

But she pushes through her confusion. Livewire takes a breath and narrows her eyes to pull the Noivern into focus, before letting loose a THUNDER that rides the droplets of the rain on its way to try and fry the dragon-type.

Queenie's offense is, by comparison, quite straightforward. The Noivern picks up the Obstagoon and begins to fly away; but the Kingdra shadows it from the waters below. There's another flash of light before DRAGON PULSE once again splits the water and races towards its target. Noivern, as commanded.

The lanturn managed to break through the confusion, crap! Not only that he used a powerful move that hit both noivern and obstagoon due to them both being in contact with one another and the nature of electricity. However the dragon pulse did not hit it's mark due to some interference! [break][break]

"Obstagoon! Block it and drop on kingdra! Grab him!" She orders as noiveren releases obstagoon and he uses obstruct forming it's arms into an X and blocking the dragon pulse and once he was close enough, the obstagoon tries to latch onto the kingdra since the dragon pulse revealed it's location beneath the waves. [break][break]

Noivern now free of the weight of holding obstagoon Noivern looked towards the lanturn and decided to go with a move that couldn't miss him. "Noivern let it rip!" she shouts as the music playing out of the speakers of the concert started to be blasted even louder as Noivern played the same music out of it's ears and sent it right towards the enemy in the form of boomburst.

[attr="class","sunshine"]The Obstagoon makes for a pretty awesome picture. Queenie's DRAGON PULSE splits cleanly across its arms, the OBSTRUCT both stopping the attack and allowing the dark-type an easy dive into the depths. It would find itself face to face with a surprised Kingdra; but while its approach and grappling attempt are impressive -- the water is ultimately her domain. SWIFT SWIM carries her out of reach.

But there's no avoiding the attack from the Noivern.

It's a merciless display. The BOOMBURST sends painful vibrations through the water; and Plank can't help but be a bit impressed watching a Gym Leader willing catch her own pokemon in the crossfire. Putting Noah's cleverness from her first gym battle next to Melody's boldness in her second is doing wonders for her impression of the league's champions (well, figuratively, obviously the champion is a different . . . whatever).

Regardless, Queenie and Livewire both do their best to shake off the music still quaking through their bodies. Queenie does so with relative success. She blinks hard and shakes herself off; and then the water around her begins to spin dangerously. A makeshift whirlpool momentarily forms as a HURRICANE builds around her, then the winds rush towards Obstagoon with enough intensity to affect the air even above the water's surface.

Livewire fares significantly worse. This time when she attempts to build the necessary charge for another THUNDER something goes wrong. The electricity loses its direction on the way to the special organ on her head and instead discharges inside of her somewhere. The move is lost and she can't help but buckle somewhat at the pain that runs through her.
