the biggest reason Casey Fincher hadn't heard footsteps over the sand was because there was none to be heard. instead glitch was pushed in, still recovering from surgery for the most part but still needing to show that he was still capable of fulfilling his duties as a gym leader and pretend league member. but instead he was wheeled in by one of his pokemon, taki to be specific. the conkeldurr however wasn't going to be the one participating in the battle. no, glitch needed him on hand in order to take care of things.

instead he released sprite, one of his porygon2's onto the field in order to battle. "it's alright! i've been a bit busy!" he laughed a little bit and pointed to the wheelchair. a blanket covered his legs, well. leg. he didn't want to give it away yet that he had been a lot more seriously injured than expected at the battle. "let's get this show on the road though, shall we? sprite! tri-attack!" he was going to start this off and end this quickly hopefully. the porygon2 wasted no time in attacking, eyes glowing as the triple attack raced towards their opponent.

the fact that sprite took down Casey Fincher 's pokemon nearly immediately surprised the hell out of him. he hadn't really realized how strong tri attack was until that moment. he'd have to think about that strategy more. especially since they were supposed to be giving people a show. "oh, i wasn't expecting that to be that strong. i guess i've been training my pokemon a lot more lately." after all between being a gym leader and getting his hooked into different things in rocket he had to be strong. as strong as possible. especially if he couldn't be strong physically.

"it's good to see you again! it's been awhile. a lot has changed since we were younger though." a lot. but he was fine with that. after all the more things changed the better they tended to get in the end. "sorry about your bird..." because it looked like it hurt when it hit the ground.

sprite settled down carefully in his lap as Casey Fincher began to talk about how he had been modeling and all that. glitch supposed he could probably get casey to do some promotions for the gym too. especially with all the products he wanted to launch out of mossdeep in the future. "oh! a track suit? what company?" he was curious as to who was releasing what these days. being in the hospital made it feel like he had lost a lot of time really.

"i'm actually in charge of the gym. we've remodeled the whole thing from the last gym leader and i've had some challengers already." he smiled and gently patted the porygon-2 on the head. "not exactly what the family thought that i would be doing but i guess i've proven them wrong on being a waste of space huh?" some of the family thought he'd be useless after he dropped out. but here he was, more important than any of them.

when Casey Fincher offered him what sounded like an extremely ugly colored jacket glitch had to wrinkle his nose. he might have been in a wheelchair but there was no way in hell he was going to dress like an ugly now. "no thanks. i'm super picky with my clothes and track suits aren't really my thing. thanks though." he wouldn't want to wear something super ugly even if it was comfortable. "i could use your help though if you're looking for modeling work. i'm coming up with a line of fashionable smart watches and i want all the models i can get." they weren't ready yet and still in development. but that didn't mean they couldn't start marketing yet.

"my parents have called me a couple of times but i send it right to voicemail. which means they get to hear me detail how to go about challenging me at my gym." they wanted something from him. like money or attachment to his name. but they'd never liked his name before or to use it. so why should they get to now?

"i wear fuzzy pj's to bed. they're warm and i get cold easily." especially lately. but he didn't want to talk about how tired he was all the time or how cold he was all the time. there were more important things to worry about.

"how about you swing by the gym sometime and i'll give you a rundown? it's going to be a tech advertisement though so i hope you're ready. i'm going to try and get melody to model it too. it'll be like a family thing!" what he didn't mention was that it was also extremely a rocket thing as well. but that wasn't the point right now.

he didn't like thinking about family back home. especially not when none of them had believed in him to begin with. but they could deal with his success in the best of ways by getting to see him in magazines and hyped up beyond belief by strangers.

he'd forgotten that basil had recently moved to the area. it seemed as if everyone from his past was starting to bubble to the surface. it made him a little bit nervous really. especially since he was working with rocket. it was likely if shit went down he'd have to deal with heartbreak one way or another. he'd dealt with melody dying once and he didn't want to deal with it again.

"i don't have a set date yet, we're still in development. but i'll send you an email and we call all meet up at my apartment for some downtime anyways. have you been to mossdeep yet?" since that was where he was hanging out nowadays. he pulled out his phone to give casey his number so that he could get in contact.
