Corviknight's sharp eyes pick out movements beneath the rippling waters. As Gavin watches, the steel-feathered avian sheds part of its bulk with its AERIAL AUTOTOMIZE, the plumage along its wings shifting loose.

He does not whistle, merely watches.

The avian hunter gives a decisive flap of its STEEL WINGS and sends sharpened projectiles crashing into the surf. Blood seeps into the water; would its presence perhaps attract a different kind of prey?

Blood swirls along the surface of the water, tinting seafoam pink.

Gavin watches, expectant, until the water ripples under the presence of another lurking in the depths. Could it perhaps be the Inkay that he sought, come to prey upon the scraps?

No. A Wailmer emerges, instead, spraying a WATER SPOUT into the air.

Though he had little interest in the species as a whole, their immense size upon evolution could be of use to some underwater operations. It's Rocket he thinks of as he whistles for Corviknight, signalling the attack.

In spite of the water Pokemon's best attempts to SOAK the bird's wings, water glances harmlessly off of metal. Though its typing changes, Corviknight remains airborne and out of reach, able to slowly whittle down its opponent with a combination of EXTREME SPEED and patience. When Wailmer falls unconscious, Gavin tosses a ball.

Though it was a shadow Pokemon, powerful and unique, Corviknight still found itself susceptible to TAUNTING; Gavin watches, dissatisfied, as the dark-feathered corvid dives toward a Clobbopus on the beach.

His sharp whistle goes unheeded.

A growl of frustration rumbles in his throat.

Clobbopus strikes hard with a POWER-UP PUNCH when the bird is close, slamming it into the sand. An attempt to POWER TRIP is rendered largely ineffective thanks to a lack of stat-boosts from the crow.

BRICK BREAK bends metal, and Corviknight lets out a pained screech.

Rolling his eyes, Gavin glances around the safari before allowing his miasma to swirl around the Corviknight, adding to its already EXTREME SPEED and giving it an opportunity to dodge a FEINT. It dives back down with a DRILL PECK that pierces deep.

Clobbopus disappears into a safari ball as Gavin glowers.

Amber eyes fall at last upon the creature he'd hoped to find.

"Try not to let this one bait you into stupidity."

Corviknight certainly tries. It maintains its distance and fires a volley of STEEL WING feathers toward the small squid bobbing atop the water... only to find its signature move DISABLED by some psychic force.

PSYCHO CUTS bounce harmlessly off the avian's IRON DEFENSES as it closes the distance and executes a brutal POWER TRIP.

Inkay, unconscious, is plucked from the water and dropped at Gavin's feet. He bends down to tap it with one of two remaining safari balls. They were making good time.
