He closes his eyes to weather it, focuses on the steadiness of his breaths to regain control over his emotions. There's a bitter irony in the fact that Theo had been the one who'd necessitated learning such self-control.

When he opens his eyes, they're sharp as steel.

"And that's fine. I can live with that." Survive, no matter the cost. He'd been through worse. "As long as we're on the same page."
