This certainly was interesting. Even to someone like her, the kinds of potential applications of this were relatively clear. And the scientist even gave a smile, which probably meant it was quite amazing indeed. “Do you think others have managed to harness this as well? I mean, with this kind of power, it will be hard to do anything against it. I’d wager it would be important to make sure we have a monopoly on this, right?”

This kind of technology had the potential to transform the world. “Someone once told me how dangerous Silp already is, but with technology like this, they’d be able to control just about anything. “That dragon guy sure won’t like that,” she replied, sounding arguably happy about it. And why not? After all that big talk he’d had about using a dragon legendary or whatnot to reshape the world, apparently the Silph had already gotten technology that could do that. Through mercantilism. Oh, he’d certainly be furious about that.

But that was neither here nor there. For now, they were talking about science, after all. “I guess it’s right, though. People are always pretty quick at copying something amazing. That just means we will have to do better than them to begin with. Though it probably wouldn’t hurt knowing about their progress, too.” And that did sound like something she could do, actually. Silph clerks were always so eager to talk about their work once she got them going….

Oh? That seemed to have gotten to her. But which part? Ever the predator, Violet noticed that short pause and insecure wording. Given her impression of the other so far, she figured that the scientist had a personal connection to something she’d said. Was it Silph? There seemed to be some sort of animosity, sure, but that group had been the topic before.

Was it Amor? That struck her as odd in and of itself. But it was the only thing that made sense. Then again, he probably was not the only dragon trainer there was.
Either way, she was not going to simply stop there anyway. “Though I reckon we already got spies there. After all, Rocket seems to have infiltrated quite a few organizations already. Having someone with the most important industrial groups just seems logical.” Naturally, she was probing there a little. Though, admittedly, it was possibly a little too subtle once again. Lulu was that kind of person after all.

“Quite a few things, actually. You probably build a lot of gadgets and the like here too, right? I mean, if you got spies and a research division, you probably build a lot of trinkets to help operatives too, not just the grand designs with world-wide implications.” At least that would make sense. Naturally, she had seen the movies. Heck, she had used movies to teach herself to act, in many a way. It wasn’t perfect, obviously, but it wasn’t like they had classes for the kinds of things she did. Well, not any that were accessible to a teenage runaway at the very least.

“Ah, I see~,” she replied, somewhat positively. Mostly because she felt like that was more of an excuse or a smokescreen than the truth. That woman was probably prone to both getting distracted and to focus on certain things to the point where she did not notice anything around her. At least those were the stereotypes colouring Vio’s impression. But the way she had gotten this woman off-balance before, they indicated that there was more. Which was obvious in hindsight, really. Rocket probably did attract people like that.

People like herself, really. “But I would love to learn more about such trinkets. I have had quite a bit of success so far lying and stealing and identity-changing, but I did all of that manually and stuff. I never really had any tools outside of a phone, some fake IDs and a can-do attitude. You here must have all the nice toys, which gets me a bit excited, admittedly.” She laughed at that a bit, feeling clever, but mostly just because she brown-nosed herself a little.

Ah, too bad, it seemed like their tour was at an end. But that wasn’t too bad. She had learned at least a little about her superior and, hopefully, had left at least some impression herself. Plus, this could help her get some upward mobility in the organization in general. More than doing random guard duty and delivery missions at least. Certainly a success, as far as she was concerned. And trying to go for anything more would probably be bad.

Though she naturally could not help but add a bit of tease, regardless. “That works out nicely, then. You got yourself a date~.” While she did not exactly sound serious there, Vio had very deliberately chosen that framing. It was innocent enough to not be taken the wrong way, but it was also something that someone conscious about such things would ponder over. Though there was a good chance that Lulu would outright not notice, of course. “I will be looking forward to what you have to offer,” she then added, alongside a bow. They didn’t have a proper salute, after all.
