"I don't know that I can afford something like an artwork at the moment."

All of his extra money was being funneled directly into Mt. Pyre, and there was no way he was going to use the mass graveyard's money to purchase art to hang above the lobby.

Though it was a tempting idea, something to make it a bit more home and a lot less doom and gloom. Which was the current vibe.

"I'll keep it in mind though... and how about this," reaching into his pocket, he retrieved a chic and modern business card and handed it to her. "Give me a call when it's finished, and I'll come to have a look."

she nods, understanding but was disappointed. until - hey! - an idea hit her mind. "not even for twenty dollars?" she smirks. yes, her art was worth way more. much more. they hung in galleries around the world, but Sam didn't need to know that!

"I'm trying to get into the art business" Acantha lies easily with a sigh "struggling artist bills to pay, yanno." the Hills were expensive to live in but... she could lie and say Daddy or Mommy bought her the apartment.

she takes the business card though. "any publicity is good publicity. but I get it. I only thought if I could hang it somewhere cool, some like-minded individuals would be into it."

The charisma she oozes is lost on Sam. He's far too busy thinking of ways for her to get better publicity without having to sell her artwork for so cheap. Ever the clever boy...even if he's a lil dense.

"There's an art gallery here in Mauville City that will host your artwork. Not to mention the plethora of art galleries in Slateport that would likely be happy to have new exhibits."

Their drinks are brought to the table then. Sam takes his own with a polite smile, paying the waitress then just in case he needed to zip out quickly. Ever efficient.

The absol at his feet stretches, laying on her side and smacking her lips for a few moments before her eyes close again and she prepares herself for a nap.

maybe it was a bad idea to give away her artwork for next to nothing, but Sam didn't know how much it was worth. the artist did and she was willing to give him a very generous discount. alas, he didn't seem to like the idea. he rebuffed the idea.

so she moved on. "I'll keep that in mind" Acantha states - men! - "but I doubt I'm good enough for galleries yet" another. damn. lie. she raises the business card "but I'll call you when I'm done it, yes."

their orders finally arrived and she would take her coffee immediately. the cup was hot so she held it delicately in her hands. "or I can see you there when I go" she adds with a grin.

It's a blunt and obvious piece of information he offers up into the discussion. Realizing that he more voiced his thought that actually contributed to their conversation, he tried to give their chat wings again.

"You'll have to make it a seasonal habit to visit. The trees change quite a few different shades over the course of the year."

He could remember Mr. Dom Pey sending he and his mother pictures of his seasonal decorations for the gravestones. A tradition of which he fully planned on keeping.

she says this whimsically, open to the idea of visiting the cemetery multiple times. the trees in different shades. the light in different locations. it was almost magical - if not for the vibe Mt. Pyre gave off. but she didn't seem to care about that.

in fact, she was excited.

"well" Acantha clasped her hands before gathering her things "I think I wasted enough of your time, Sam!" she chuckles, clearly teasing him. the conversation was good.

"I should head home and put my food away" she adds with a sheepish look. taking the bags of groceries and items in one arm, she'd get the drink she ordered as well in the other.

"it was so nice to meet you" she says with a cheerful grin, glancing down at the Absol "bye - both of you! I'll make sure to call ahead when I visit!" with an awkward wave, Acantha would depart.
