Tallulah didn't need a Pokemon to swim.

she roamed the beach in her swimsuit and wrap, shaking free sand from her bare feet. avoiding the spikey shells and beach debris, she strolled casually through. today she was hunting for a strong water-type to add to her team. she didn't really train them much; water Poke were useless mostly on land.

but she needed to be versatile when it came to Ranger duties. so as long as she put it off, she would get nowhere. noticing a woman on a Milotic in the water, she'd lift her hand in a friendly matter to wave at her. whether the blue-ette saw her was unknown. Tallulah would march into the water, searching.

her feet cleaned immediately in the waves. a sigh escaped the rancher slash ranger. bliss. nature was bliss.

"aye - taking a break!"

though Tallulah hadn't summoned the courage to approach the group of people. there were too many folks around so she went looking for prime Pokémon instead. people could wait, surely.

the woman notices the Jigglypuff but is too far away to do anything about it. she could jump into the water but by the time she reached it, it would perhaps drown.

this is why she needed more Pokémon. especially water-types. the fossil goes unnoticed by her, ironically. she's too invested on if the Jigglypuff is okay.

Tallulah went further into the water, offering her hand to the woman. "are ya okay there, ma'am?" ever helpful and courteous she tried to pull her up to a standing position if allowed.

the woman was a good swimmer - no an excellent one. Tallulah was almost envious. she had a water hole at the ranch that was open at summer, but never been to the shore for very long. she had been always very busy.

not that she cared if she missed out on things.

but it was the Blastoise that caused her to look up. rising behind the woman who was going to shore, she was quick to call out her Arcanine. "take down!" she orders as the canine shot toward the armored turtle.

it wasn't as strong as it looked.

Arcanine used Extreme Speed to ricochet off the turtle and get back to land safely. the Wild Pokemon fell and Tallulah used a spare Pokeball to try and capture. "fhew" she wipes straying water off her bangs "that was close, yeah?"

so much going on at once.

the hand was taken then released as the woman's attention caught elsewhere. Tallulah kept a pleasant smile on her face all the while, not offended. "it almost did" she agrees at the Blastoise's attack, plucking the occupied Pokeball from the shallows. while the blue haired woman was occupied elsewhere, proclaiming she'd be back -

Tallulah noticed an amphibian crawling onto the beach. the Frogadier was wounded, having a few stings on its arms from Tentacool. the rookie ranger got to work approaching and calming it down before applying aloe to it's skin. after wrapping some water-proof bandages on the water-type, it would retaliate by poking at a spare Pokeball.

either by mistake or acceptance of the green haired woman's kindness, the Frogadier was engulfed in light. Tallulah chuckles. "aye, they're known for it" she says to the other lady "sadly, it gets 'em into trouble." she shakes her head at the Sealeo's inquisitiveness. having given her hand to the woman already, she smiles instead.

"Tallulah Colt, ma'am" she says politely, placing a hand above her chest to gesture to herself.

"aye" she says, nodding "been rehabilitating a few during the Tournament, the rangers have." more people at the beach meant more boats, fishing or recreational. it didn't matter, for sometimes the Sealeo would go close. too close. Tallulah hadn't minded the process; it was a good experience to be able to help them get back into the wild.

a Cutiefly would buzz by her head, causing her Arcanine to blast a very controlled Flamethrower at the fairy-bug. it hit the Pokémon squarely, causing it to faint easily. Beau would huff, not impressed but Tallulah would capture it regardless. she could train the weaker Pokémon and bring out their best. she had done the same with her own.

"not interested in t' Tournament?" she would ask Eliora, giving a nod to the battling crowd "been too busy with work to do any real damage, me'self." she chuckles.
