"Velma!" Aurora cries out, pulling away from Norman and rushing to the water's edge. She had been obsessed with that character, from a book about a dog who solved mysteries. A Wailmer has breached the surface, water splashing. While they did appear in the distance from time to time, rarely did they come so close to the little town. Seeing one in person really showed off how large they were.

"Woah...."

They both don't mind wading into the surf, more than used to the wetness between their toes. In Pacifilog, many people joked you learned how to swim before you learned how to walk.

The Wailmer seems just as curious about them as they are of her, edging closer to the sand. Friendly, even, as the two children reach out to pat her large body.

"Velma! I love Velma!" Boucing on her heels, Aurora giggled before trying to wrap her tiny arms around the Wailmer in a hug.

Well, it looked like this one was coming with them.

CATCHING

The next victim to fall prey to the four year old was a Wimpod.

Aurora giggled as she chased the poor pokemon around the flat of beach they had found it on. There wasn't too many places for it to go, meaning it would just have to frantically run in circles while being worn out by an enthusiastic child. Norman had decided to take a rest on the sidelines and watch, feet tired from their walking.

Now, though, he was starting to strum with energy again, eager to be up and moving. It was hard for most children to sit still for long even when tired, after all.

He hopped into the Wimpod's path, making it skid to a halt and try to double back- only to be scooped up into the waiting arms of Aurora.

The exhausted pokemon was clearly frightened and panicked, wiggling to get away, but Aurora just gave it a firm hug and tried to push her soft face against it's head.

"Cute! So cute! I love you, Seahorse!"

She babbled on until the pokemon, more confused than scared, finally calmed down and accepted the affection, albeit reluctantly at first.

Taking one of the other pokeballs from his pocket, Norman offered it to the pokemon.

CATCHING

The sun was starting to get high in the sky and surely it was almost time for them to leave. Dad had wanted to grab a nice lunch in Lilycove before heading back towards Pacifidlog.

They hadn't seen too many more pokemon but that was more than okay. Aurora had been very content with carrying around the Wimpod and talking to him every since the little bug had been captured. The little girl, right now, had her new best friend sitting next to her on the sand while building a sand castle. She was babbling a story about how the Wimpod was a King and needed to protect his whole land (the beach) from the big even bad wizard (Norman).

Norman was busy exploring the tide-pools, ignoring her fun, and poking around in the bits of water to see if he could find anything cool. A collection of pretty rocks and seashells were wetting his shorts pocket, but movement in one of the smaller pools caught his eye when he stepped closer.

This one had a small fish trapped inside, looking panicked. The water was just the side it could swim in a very tight circle but wasn't as deep as it should have been; the top of it's scales looked sticky and dry compared to the rest. Surely, if nature were to take it's course, the water would evaporate further and kill the little Wishiwashi before the tide came back in to save it.

Norman felt a pang in his heart for it. Gently, he cupped his hands and caught the fish inside. The poor thing was too weak to resist. Thankfully for it, he trailed out into the deeper water of the ocean and put it back.

A few moments later it seemed to be rejuvenated, darting away from his feet. Norman was about to turn and go back to shore, to his sister, when the little fish came back... and continued to follow him.

He considered the last pokeball in his pocket. They needed to leave soon anyway, so...
