as they waded through the water, the sight of a pokemon waving fists wildly in the air caused homura to be a little bit uncomfortable. especially since they weren't really sure if they were allowed to fight in this safari zone. it wasn't allowed back home and they didn't want to get in trouble... so quickly they hurried past the strange looking pokemon. it was left in the sand as they continued to look for something that didn't look like it wanted to hit them...

skipping clobbopus!

it was massive. it was squishy. and it looked a lot more friendly than the weird waving pokemon as the wailmer seemed to have a big smile on it's face. amazing. running around it a little bit, homura gently placed a hand on the friendly looking whale. it didn't seem to mind. after all it was a lot bigger than they were and if nothing else they could be considered a minor nuisance to it if the water type really wanted. so of course that meant they wanted to climb on it.

the wailmer sunk a little bit deeper into the water to help them climb up on her back. it was still a hassle, with the water type being so large. eventually it sunk deep into the water until only the bare minimum of her back was visible to let homura climb on. and then off they went. zooming across the water of the safari zone at speeds that caused the child to finally break something of a smile. a large pokemon like this would definitely be handy to have around.

catching wailmer

now that they had a big pokemon to race around on in all of the water it would be a little bit harder to find pokemon. but that was fine because it meant they would have to walk and wade through the deep water less. something they were kind of looking forward to. some of that water was a little bit faster than the rest and seemed dangerous really. they didn't want to end up getting hurt here. that would have completely defeated the purpose of their parents shipping them off here.

"stop!"

there it was. the ultimate worm. slithering through some of the water as they skated by. it was a pokemon they had seen many times on the tv when they had been able to watch it. a pokemon that champions had. though it was just a baby worm for now they were sure it would grow up big and strong.

"scoop."

the wailmer opened it's mouth wide, scooping the worm up into it's mouth to carefully hold it until they could reach land. that technically counted as catching, right?

they'd done a lot of work today, gotten a lot done with what they had. two pokemon was nothing to sneeze at. but now they still needed to look for one more. after all, that was part of the safari zone here. you could catch three pokemon and then they booted you out. they only had one more pokeball left so they needed to use it wisely. it would need to be a real special pokemon for it.
