That moment of vulnerability allows the Blaziken to beat it into submission. Watching each blow land carries the fury of the Pokemon—it looks almost personal from the way it’s vented with every fist and kick.

Fernando recalls the Pokemon before the beatdown can escalate into a bloodbath. There’s a bit of concern that crosses his features but that solely comes from the lack of restraint enforced by its trainer.

Defeat is nigh. There’s little come back from this level of discrepancy. His Smeargle is his ace among the three but even it can’t handle two combatants for long.

PSYCHIC powers envelope the Pokemon before suddenly hurling it away. It puts its hands up, protectively, as a KING’S SHIELD dampens the blow. The barrier protects it from the impact and the Pokemon is unharmed.

“SPOTLIGHT!”

It’s Fernando’s only chance and his crutch. The Smeargle aims its tail at the Alakazam before shining a peculiar light at the Shadow Pokemon. Now, everyone will focus on it. Maybe the Blaziken won’t attack it but taking its focus away from Smeargle is more than enough to constrain the match into a one versus one.
