"Hey Balder, how's it going mate?" Zac asked, 5 feet away from his hunky, professional friend.

Zac was wearing his Kyle Krush promotional t-shirt, but it was a little ripped (from battling, probably), and it was all wet. The high-quality clung to his body like an adoring Charja-Cola groupie.

"Heard you were after a battle?" Zac said, reaching for his balls.

"Prowess is a bit of a strong word," Zac said, scratching his head. "I became a gym leader to get better at battling. It's a long road, but I'm not doing too bad today." He laughed, hand hovering between a few Pokeballs. "I've definitely racked up more losses than wins."

"One on one sounds great. Could I make a request though?" Zac asked. He opened his Rotom fridge and pulled out two cans of Charja-Cola, offering one to Balder. "I've heard you've got a one-of-a-kind Ultra Beast...mind if I fight that?"

Becoming a Gym Leader to learn more about battles and becoming better at them? This... was an interesting and inspiring vision of this world. Balder chuckled slightly at that. It's a refreshing view amidst the Gym Leaders, especially after the time he was active. "Through losses, you acquire knowledge. And if you don't die, is it truly a loss?"[break][break]

The request from the redhead, however, was surprising. Fight Celesteela huh? "Sure, I'm down for that. We'll see how you get to handle her." Pulling a pokeball from his back, of a silver color with a green-like webbing to it, the man opened it summoning the 42ft tall Celesteela. "Here's Stella, at your request. I'll let you take the first move once you're ready."

"Oh HELL yeah!" Zac shouted, as the massive Ultra Beast burst onto the scene. It was gorgeous. It was massive and imposing. It was the biggest bloody Pokemon Zac had ever seen. But only just.

"Kev! I've got a full-sized playmate for you!" Zac said, as he stamped the packed sand of the arena. The ground shuddered and then buckled as the huge metal serpent burrowed out of the earth. Kev's steel skin gleamed up the summer light, his plates and juts burning as if they were freshly forged in the heat of the mantle.

Kev sized up Stella. His segments scraped and groaned as he pulled himself up to his full height, which was still a few feet shorter than the massive, ship-like alien. "What do you say mate? Ready for a tussle?" Zac asked. Kev rumbled like an excited avalanche, and threw himself head-first at the beast.

Kev used HEAD SMASH!

Zac sounded like a real nerd currently. It was the first time that the Alolan saw someone going crazy over the sight of the Celesteela. A good change of pace compared to those that displayed fear, disgust or anger at the sight of the creature. It's not because cannibals used them previous that it meant this one was just as bad![break][break]

Suddenly, the ground shook and the sands shifted as a Steelix emerged. Not only did it emerge, it decided it would also go for a head smash against Stella. "Catch him, Stella." The Bamboo poles that served as arms suddenly moved to grab the Steelix as it collided with the giant shape that the main body formed.[break][break]

"Sing it the sound of your people" Said the Alolan as he plugged his ears. A few seconds later, the small mouth of Stella opened, allowing a cacophonic metallic sound to emerge, aiming disorient and weaken the Steelix stuck in its arms.[break]

Kev struggled in the grip of the steely foe. Zac noticed Balder plugging his ears a second too late too do anything, and the discordant screech of metal on metal shook him right to the roots of his molars. "Augh!" Zac shouted, slapping his hands over his ears. "I'm pretty open-minded Balder," Zac said, tasting metal, "but that song is definitely an acquired taste."

Steelix got the worst of it, as the sound shuddered through his whole body, making him vibrate and chime like a cracked tuning fork. He roared, and twisted in Stella's grip, turning his weight awkwardly as he tried to force her down into the ground and back into his hole he had emerged from.

Kev used DIG! And he's taking Stella with him!

"I'd say its taste is kind of... out of this world." The man unplugged his ears, just in time to hear and witness the Steelix bringing the Celesteela into the ground... Or did he? As the snake tried to burrow itself with the starship, said space ship decided to activate its boosters, at full throttle[break][break]

At first, both were caught in a stalemate. But slowly, Celesteela began to rise up from the ground. As a certain professor in a game would say in this situation: Ground type moves are ineffective against flying types. But this one... Wasn't even due to typing. Stella was defiant and hated being confined into something like the ground. Even the special pokeball it had needed a special interior for it.[break][break]

Thus, the Steel Giant took flight, hopefully bringing the snake along for the ride. Once they were a few feet up in the air, the Celesteela decided to unleash a Flash Cannon to send the Steelix back to the ground. Would this suffice though?

Steelix ground its way across Stella's massive form, trying to avoid the blast of the FLASH CANNON. The weapon blasted, tearing at his hide. The heat from the attack melted part of his steel skin. Zac shook his head, whistling at the spectacle. "You're not strong enough to wrestle her to the ground," Zac said, a smile building on his lips. The statement wasn't an admission of failure, but a challenge.

Zac touched the Mega Stone on his wrist, and Steelix's eyes shone blue. Vast spears of crystal burst through the serpent's skin, and sharp plates and chunks of metal formed a deadly, swirling aura around the now Mega Steelix. In his ultimate form, Kev was just as long as Stella was high.

"Let's go mate! Get her to the ground! It's the best chance you're gonna get!" Zac shouted. Kev pulled back his tail and SMACKED IT DOWN on Stella's booster like a mace, intent on driving the flying type down into the sand. Into his domain.

"Mega Evolution huh..." Should've been expected. There was no reason for the man to not use this possibility when having the change. However, he now had an advantage due to this, giving it the power to Smack Down one of the Celesteela's reactors. The creature's flight began to go awry.[break][break]

As the celesteela's flight derailed, going side-ways, upwards, downwards and more, a single word came from Balder's side. "Gravity." The pokemon didn't know the move "Gravity", but it knew the meaning of the word, and how to make use of it. re-establishing its flight as best as possible, the Celesteela proceeded to descend towards the ground with the Steelix, hoping to Heavy Slam the metal snake into the ground.

The pair crashed into the sand, cratering the dune and whipping up rough clouds of biting grains. Kev's aura of metal and crystal tore at the ground. He struggled under the weight of the massive creature, pulling his serpentine body loose with great effort.

Despite Kev's metal skin, the HEAVY SLAM of his opponent had badly dented his segments. The steel boulders that formed his body had been warped by the force of Stella's impact.

Zac let out a low whistle at he saw the damage. Sand blew into his face and he put on the sand goggles that Stormy Silph had given him. "You alright Kev? She's on the ground, so go get her!" It was a vague command, but Kev knew how to push an advantage. He barreled towards Stella, a great STEEL ROLLER that threatened to crush the enemy beneath the indomitable advance of his churning bulk.

Zac sure wasn't letting up. Making the impossible possible during this fight. A Steel Roller on this field? Suprisingly, it actually worked, and was like seeing a dangerous mix of dirt and sand tumbling at the Celesteela. "STELLA, SHOW IT YOU'RE SUPERIOR!" Fight fire with fire... Or in this case? STEEL ROLLER VS STEEL ROLLER! The Celesteela gathered its boosters around it and began to have them rotate at high speed, while the main body rotated the other way, rushing towards the steelix.[break][break]

STEEL ROLLER met STEEL ROLLER, in a grinding, wrenching squeal of metal. "Come on Kev! Give it everything you have mate!" Zac shouted, as the Mega Steelix tore at his opponent.

Just as it looked like he might win, Kev faltered. The orbiting shards of steel and quartz dropped to the sand, and the pillars of crystal that had burst from his body disappeared. Kev's Mega Evolution had ended. "No! Kev! You can still take Stella, buddy!"

Steelix tried, but without the power of the Mega Evolution he was just no match for the Ultra Beast. Kev's roll faltered, and he was overrun.

"STELLA, TAKE TO THE SKIES!" As the Steelix faltered and lost the contest of strength, the Celesteela moved its arms to grab the steel snake before orienting her thrusters towards the ground, taking flight with the snake. "DESCEND SLOWLY NOW, DON'T LET IT FALL!".[break][break]

Stella nodded as it slowly descended back to the ground, gently dropping steelix on the ground. With this sudden rise to the sky and slow descent, they avoided damage to the area, as well as hurting the spectators, or even Zac himself. Balder sighed and called the Celesteela back in his pokeball. "Seems like it's our win Zac."
