"It's been alright so far." he replied. Honestly, winning or losing didn't matter to him. This tournament was an opportunity to gather intel and test his Pokemon. The Poipole he'd picked up from Meteor Falls specifically benefited greatly from his fights.

The Tyranitar next to him shifted uncomfortably in the sand.

Killian nodded, "We can begin whenever you're ready." he beckoned her to the opposite side of the arena.

"go, Lorelai" she commands, taking out a Whimiscott to do battle. the fairy-grass cotton-ball would trill in greeting, floating to the ground. seeing as Killian Decker gave her the first reaction she would take it a step forward to use the first move. "Cotton Guard."

glowing a deep emerald green, the Whimiscott's ivory tuffs expanded over her. shoots of yellow energy indicated the effects of the move; raising her defense against the physical move dealing Tyranitar. 

Siobhan inclined her head to the man. his move.

A Whimsicott is a formidable opponent given Monster's typing, but Tyranitar will endure. Heavy footfalls carried him onto the sandy arena. Pitch-black eyes narrowed to slits at the prey before him.

"Tyranitar!" booming, the roar caused the sand around them to stir. A mighty Sandstorm (Sand Stream) raged by sheer force of will. His maw remained opened. Tiny embers spiraled between sharp rows of teeth. Exhaling heavily, he transformed kindling into a mighty torrent of flame. The sheer heat from Flamethrower turned the sand beneath and around it to glass.

the best thing about the tiny cotton-ball? "Giga Drain" Siobhan commands once the Flamethrower hits the Whimiscott. Lorelai would shriek in pain but - she wasn't down for the count. harsh green-yellow light emitted from the fairy.

it began to leech energy from the Tyranitar, adding to it's own health pool while subtracting from Killian Decker 's Pokémon. this needn't be a long and drawn out fight, but Siobhan was curious to see the man's power.

Giga Drain is disappointing, but nothing Monster can't handle. He gritted his teeth and buried his feet into the sand. Tyranitar wouldn't falter in the face of adversity. Flamethrower turned into a frigid Beam of Ice that cut a swathe through the raging sandstorm.

the beam of ice shot toward Lorelai, who took it. Siobhan made no call to dodge, so the little cotton ball would also take it with stride. a wince and little cry accompanied it.

"Moonblast" commands the human and the Pokemon would comply. a concentrated ball of fairy energy shot toward the Tyranitar, trying to deal damage.

A Moonblast now?

Monster dodged, leaping to the side. He charged forward and let out a mighty Screech against Whimscotts's ears. A distraction for the Ice Beam that followed.

"Growth."

the Screech hurt Lorelai's ears, her sensitive horns tingling and lowering her Defense. the Whimsicott would glow again, quivering as stats were raised. her Attack grew.

"Giga Drain."

once the Ice Beam hit again, it was a frigid knock on her health. the Whimsicott would once more begin to suck life from the Tyranitar, trying to sap away at whatever she could get.

A Moonblast now?

Another Giga Drain sapped further strength from Tyranitar's body. Monster felt the muscles of his body start to tire. He'd lose this battle if he endured more.

Time to turn up the heat.

Maw opened wide, he shot forth a second torrent of flames. Flamethrower once again turned the sand around it to glass. They'd whistle each other down slowly but surely at this rate.

"Dodge it."

thankfully the gusts of wind emitting from the Flamethrower provided waves of air. the Whimsicott would ride those until she was directly on top of him. but she did not escape that easily from the flames. a few of her cotton patches were singed.

and why do another move if "Giga Drain" was being so effective? Siobhan saw the Tyranitar slowing down and wanted to end this quickly. Lorelai was not much of a fighter. at least, not right now.

More energy leeched from his body slowed Monster's movements further. The armored giant took slow, heavy breathes but didn't relent in his attempt to dish out damage. Flamethrower is sent scorching across the sand from an open jaw.

a few more hits should do the trick. Siobhan noticed KILLIAN DECKER's Pokémon slowing even further but this time did not issue an order to Lorelai.

the cotton fairy took the initiate to shoot a Moonblast, parting the flamethrower's path and trying to hit the Tyranitar dead-on.

It doesn't even take a few more hits. Too slow to dodge, Moonblast hit and launched Monster back and down into the sand. His eyes shut slowly as the world goes dark.

Tyraintar is unable to battle! Whimscott wins!

Killian returned the fainted Pokemon with a sigh. Monster did well, but there was still some work to be done on his approach.

"Good battle. We'll need to have a rematch sometime." he paused, thinking for a moment. "What do you say I treat you to something to eat for winning? Ask you a few questions about all that folk lore you know." Killian smiled wide, waiting for an answer.
