There was just one problem with all of this.

Gwyar stared at Raki, and Raki at Gwyar.

Then they stared at their opponent.

"I weight 250 pounds." The man had pointed out dryly, and Raki had held up his noodle arms as if to say 'HOW'.

Somehow, through an adamant refusal to change pokemon or back out of the match, they ended up with Raki atop Gwyar's shoulders and Gwyar being stared down by a Malamar.

And attacked, too. The man scrambled out of the way with Raki in tow, the little guy squealing as he waved his arms wildly, shooting back at the Malamar copies of its own night slash.

Raki used copycat!

well. that was one way of doing things.

[break][break] one could call that cheating. a breach of the rules. however, jayden didn't mind.

[break][break] for a while the two parryed different night slashes through the air, dragging their trainers along with them. it was only after this ridiculous behavior for several minutes that jayden decided enough was enough.

[break][break] "sven." a low whistle underbreath. the malamar's eyes glowed bright red as it used hypnosis.

Raki immediately tried to copy the Malamar, having no real ranged moves of his own.

So while the Malamar used hypnosis on Raki, Raki used hypnosis on... jayden cross.

After a moment, Raki slumped atop Gwyar's head, snoozing gently.

"Uh oh." Gwyar said, eyes wide- before he turned around and sprinted away!

Gwyar proves surprisingly agile for a man his size, jumping over the crescent moon of psychokinetic energy as it came at him like a track and field runner over the hurdles.

Only with a much more real sense of 'I'll literally die if I fail' to it.

Raki bounced over his head as he ran, drooling on his hair.

[break][break] as the malamar swings it's arms in broad strokes, looking like oddly like a windmill, the crescent-moon shapes of dark energy hit nothing as they speed through the air. the 250lb man is surprisingly agile on his feet, or perhaps the malamar is simply not trying enough.

Somehow, what was supposed to be one of the more playful forms of 'battle' in the tourney turned into a life or death situation for the blonde man, as he jumped and leaped over several beach lounge chairs and sand castles in order to save his life from the (in his opinion) out of control Malamar.

Raki was dead to the world asleep, snoring now while dangling off his head. It was all on him to survive now.

He could practically feel the heat of the psycho blades on his ass as he jumped, feeling them sear part of his swimsuit bottoms.

"Goodness, is this truly necessary?!"

[break][break] the psychic type pokemon roared in annoyance as yet once again, this Gwyar Wledig creature still seemed to determined to ignore the onslaught of attacks! no matter how many different combinations of night slash or psycho cut that he send his way, the blond man was avoiding them.

[break][break] what kind of special training did he go under?!

[break][break] much like raki, jayden continued to be tossed around like a ragdoll as his pokemon floated through the air, chasing the blond man. though, jayden was a lot more secure with the psychic holding him in place, as it glowed around his body. he hugged his malamar, dozing into a - rare - peaceful slumber.

Gwyar was just trying to LIVE here, man. Psychic blades were kind of DEADLY, and with how broad these ones were, there would be a lot more than papercuts if he let himself get caught.

[break][break] the words appear to hold some weight for the malamar, who suddenly steps his relentless onslaught of attacks. his intention was not to kill the man of course - simply just teach him a lesson cowardice.

[break][break] either way, malamar decided. he would try as the man suggested.

[break][break] a powerful psychic gathers the control of two beach chairs, thrown to the side by the man's running. they float in the air, levitating. another pulse of psychic energy, and they were now thrown, descending atop gwyar with shocking speed.

Finally, the psychic type could just pluck Raki off his head directly and be done with- OH WHAT THE FUCK!?

The large man's back hit the floor as he dropped into a kneeling slide, Raki's whipping back and forth atop his head while snoring as the beach chairs swung atop them at dangerous speeds.

it had been a nice nap, but jayden's ready to wake up. he blinks blearily as the grogginess is pulled from his body, expression sharpening immediately as he realizes the situation they're in.

[break][break] his malamar is creating havoc, throwing beach chairs at a poor man who is only trying to live.

[break][break] jayden's voice is low, but deadly. "sven."

[break][break] the malamar stops immediately, several beach chairs suspended in the air by psychic. he turns his head towards his trainer, who has only seemingly woken up. jayden's look gives him pause, and the chairs are slowly lowered to the ground.

"I am alive." The blonde man said wryly after a moment, letting a sigh of relief out of his chest. Raki, for his part, simply rolled onto his side and yawned, before going back to light snoring. Gwyar managed a laugh. "That'll have to do for now."

Raki was technically off his head, so he supposed this meant jayden cross won.

Well, he hadn't had any illusions of winning anyway.

"Thank you, I don't know how much longer I could have continued that."
