No no no. You ain't done yet.

Sénon had made it so late to this party everyone's fires were winding down when he was he was just getting stoked up.

People were going home, long journeys for some.

But he had an apartment in lower district Slateport. He could battle here until he just about passed out.

Still there weren't many left to take him up on his offers.

Only people he knew seemed to be unable to turn him down. So when he saw Ji-Hoon (Chu-e Choi) he knew he didn't have to go home just yet.

"Hey lover boy! Wait up!" Last he'd heard Ji had a boyfriend now didn't he?

He did go for the hug.

He felt good being back in Hoenn it seemed like he'd been forever given how much everyone had grown.

Of course aside from being back in the region he had an even bigger reason to smile. But Ji-Hoon was Cait's friend foremost and first, he wouldn't spoil that special moment for Cait to share with her homies.

"You look healthy. Zac Ramsay lost weight and you've gained some, good work." He took a squeeze of the smaller man's bicep. "You look just strong enough for a battle, in fact."

The ranger wiped at his nose, sure that Ji-Hoon understood what he was getting at.

"Ha. You got me." That magnetic grin began to show through. "I'm not exactly asking you to fall on my sword here." He nodded at Ji-Hoon with a cheeky smirk. "I've got Cait for that."

Jokes aside if Ji-Hoon was a little beat from all his battles Sénon thought better of throwing out Zeraora or Heatran.

Especially when he had a more fitting pokémon still trying to earn her stripes.

Not to mention if there was one turtle pokémon that could have passed as a fairy-type it was this one.

So Ji would likely appreciate the aesthetic.

She stood proud and ready with a smirk that matched her trainers'.

Ji was right. Sénon's memory was sparked. "Now that you mention it."

"You went for that one and I went for an Anorith..." He turned to Jennika who was just "Wartortle" back then. "-with this one here." The white-tailed turtle smirked harder.

Considering Ji-Hoon was all battled out there was a certain baked in civility to the battle.

The Ranger was forward but not pushy, it made it so that Ki could be a bit relaxed for the battle, not have to think too much.

"I'll start. Jenn-" Out in the established battle space Wartortle knew how she was supposed to start a battle.

Well, maybe she wasn't a marill then. Oh well, I kind of half remembered.

The water spout came quick, and Bloo did her best to tank it. She braced herself so hard she looked like she might poop.

Instead of that, soaking wet, she decided to up the ante. Water vs water and all that. She did a Rain Dance to boost up both of their water moves.

As per how her battles usually went Jennika lead with WATER SPOUT and until she was damaged WATER SPOUT would continue.

Jennika used Water Spout!

It was a straight-forward tactic; use the most powerful move you have if you only have access to it at the start of the match.

With RAIN DANCE giving them the cover of water Azumarill's water resistance helped it a little less.

Despite being the one to pull the Rain Dance trigger, Bloo does not go for the water attacks. Instead she recklessly charges forward, taking the Water Spout again, trying to slam into the Wartortle to Play Rough with her.

Bloo gave a valiant laugh, eager for a good battle.

The rough play wasn't what Jennika expected, it caught her off guard and nearly made her blush.

Turtles were tough creatures and she adjusted quickly, offering a COUNTER to the physical attack she was just hit with, dishing out twice the pain that she herself took.

Oh no! Counter! Since Bloo was a physical attacker, that was kind of her big weakness.

Still, even if it stung, she did her best to shake off the attack before going back in for another licking. This time, she Bounced upwards, preparing to come back down on the next go around.

Jennika was confused about the BOUNCE and she watched the bloated Azumarill float away.

Nearly confused it was Sénon's orders that put her to focus.

"Get ready; use SHELL SMASH" Furrowing her brows Jennika inflated her chest, rolling her shoulders back before at all once flexing every muscle in her body to splinter and then shatter the shell on her back.

Losing some defense for a greater gain of attack and speed.

Jennika used SHELL SMASH!

When Bloo was high enough in the air, she slammed her whole body down as hard as she could to continue the Bounce.

Chu-e cheered her on. This was really sudden, sure, but it was always fun to see his pokemon get worked up in a fight.

Bloo loved battling! She was one of his Gym pokemon for a reason. He wondered if Sénon Game would battle with her more often.
