but he approaches a beat drummer machine and gestures to the empty spot next to them. his claydol waits outside for them.

"want some company?"

Chu-e notices his company and nods before making room.

"I can't get past this level."

He pats his Ralts head.

"It's making Teacup sad."

CIAN MAHER

[attr="class","cian"]it is definitely one of the more challenging levels. but cian's confident he could beat it.

"i'll help you out, cutie."

he smiles at the ralts as well.

"you too, teacup."

joining the game in co-op mode, cian picks up the sticks and prepares himself.

"Aw, talk like that much more and you'll get a good luck peck."

He laughs. Teacup cheers, excited that the level might finally get trounced like he wants.

CIAN MAHER

[attr="class","cian"]grinning, cian bumps his shoulder against the stranger's.

"you can give me one once we beat this level."

and with that, the game starts, and cian's beating away on the drums like a mad man.

"Uh-huh. Maybe if you get a high score. I'm not that easy."

That's a lie. He was that easy.

"You got a name, romeo?"

[attr="class","cian"]it becomes a bit difficult to focus on two things at once, especially when the game's this intensive, but he somehow manages, perhaps through the power of cyber.

"cian. what's yours, cutie?"

"Ji-Hoon."

Sadly for CIAN MAHER, this was all a ploy. Chu-e was a committed man. There would be no cybers.

Only lies and blue balls.

The blue balls he was hitting on the screen, that is.

the blue balls are hit with precision and timing that it looks like they'll fly through this level.

"Good enough to earn that peck?" He teases.

after an ardous battle, the level's cleared, and they pass with flying colors.

"i'll take it now."

"Hmm... I guess that's good enough. Close your eyes and get ready, okay?"

He bats his eyes lashes and grins at CIAN MAHER.

[attr="class","cian"]this is a trick, isn't it?

"alright."

still, cian falls for it, too tempted by the slim chance that it won't be one.

he closes his eyes and waits.
