With the tournament coming to a close and the region started to settle down from the hustle and bustle of the event, the scarred man found himself wondering the outskirts of slateport once again. Maverick had gotten a report stating that a woman saw an abandoned canine creature roaming these parts of slateport. Although she couldn’t identify what species it was, it appeared to be wounded and emaciated. Of course, this got the ex gym leaders attention.

His gaze flickered over the area, searching for some kind of clue of where to began. To his surprise, not many trainer seemed to be out here. Odd. “Azula,” he mumbled, turning to met her gaze, “Any scents?” The massive six foot seven hell hound lifted her nose to the cool breeze, nostrils flared. After a minute of sniffing, she let out a soft whine. He grimaced, letting out a grunt of his own. “Alright. Let’s go check over there first.” The pair made their way to their first spot to check.

Nostrils flared with the intake of scents, picking up one that was close. The canine lead the way, too stumbling across a wild scrafty punching a tree. Warm orbs flickered over the dark and fighting type, debating on whether or not he wanted it. But after a few minutes of observing the creature punching the tree, the trainer decided he didn’t want it. Although he wouldn’t mind another one, it didn’t seems worth it right now.

With that decision made, the pair quietly left the wild pokemon be in hopes to find bigger and better things around the corner. His search for more houndours and houndooms continued. Of course, this didn’t mean he wouldn’t expect something different..

Hours had pass sense his last encounter with a wild pokemon. His hope of finding another houndour was at a loss. The scarred man had to head home soon and he had nothing to show for the day. In the corner of his eye, the trainer spots a spider. A brow rose, knowing someone who was looking for this specific creature. Maverick looked to hell hound, giving her a nod towards the spider in the near distance. The canine wasted no time. She turned towards the creature, taking in a deep breath to launch a FIRE BLAST at the bug. It screeched, body a flame before knocking out cold. Plucking out an empty ball, he sighed will attempting to capture the creature. At least it was something, right?
