Not only could they help raise Pokemon for people who were otherwise engaged with life, but eggs were often discovered around them too! Definitely a good place to seek information from the experts about all kinds of baby pokemon. Unfortunately, Ruby wasn't even too sure if they were going to be able to give her anything to work from.[break][break]

She knew enough about the little guy to know its name, type, and where it came from, but everything else was kind of a mystery to her. Sure enough, she was keeping Violet the Poipole on a fairly short leash. Not literally, although that might have been a wise idea. Her own babysitting Indedee was politely attempting to stop flying all around her head and hold hands and calm down for a second. With a sigh and a shake of her head, Ruby gently pushed into the daycare, motioning for her Pokemon to join her. [break][break]

Alas, it seemed Violet still was in the mood for jokes. Flying in through the open door, they'd quickly shift and fly back out, only to make what she could only imagine was some kind of bratty face into the window. Sticking their tongue out and everything. It was only with the helping hands of Darling that they managed to drag the Poipole inside at all. "Phew... Darling, keep them close, will you?"[break][break]

The Indeedee would politely bow, only to finally grab onto the ultra beast's hand as it sat still for just a few seconds.[break][break]

Now, where was someone she could speak to?

It’s not a very busy day. The number of pokemon left over night are few, and most eggs had already been picked up to the excitement and confusion of their trainers. Play pens empty, and feeders dealt with, all that was really going on was a bit of cleaning. The obvious things had been taken care of first but that just left, the building proper. In lieu of vacuuming, Mint had taken to dusting the common area as he watched the counter for visitors. [break][break]

He saw the Poipole first, pausing in his work to stare before his eyebrows knit together in confusion. He just barely held back a ’What the heck is that?’ before it flew back out and then back in. Not long after it was followed by a girl, he assumed, was the trainer and an exasperated looking Indeedee. He had half a mind to push this onto someone else and continue cleaning before remembering most of his coworkers were either handling stuff with the pokemon in the back or on break. Rats. Talkative as he could be, sometimes he likes the quiet that a menial task offered. It turned his brain off for a bit. [break][break]

“Welcome! Are you here for pick up or drop off?” he asked, giving the girl a little wave as he stepped towards the counter to set down his Swiffer duster for now. He played with the computer, waking it up from its sleep and beginning to click through something. “Last name?” he added automatically, already flowing through the customer rep process.

She'd give him a polite apologetic look for a second before turning to the little devil beast. "Be on your best behavior, understand? If you make a mess, there will be no sweet treats later, alright?" [break][break]

It gasped audible, almost as if it was offended by the mere suggestion it wouldn't get any sweets. It huffed, and then it puffed, and eventually, it just sighed knowingly. "Be good, however, and you'll get even more sweets, okay?" Ruby continued, trying her best to work with the baby. It gasped once more, eagerly nodding its massive head as it actually landed onto the ground, holding the Indeedee's hand back themselves. With that task taking care of, Ruby finally turned and walked over towards the counter. [break][break]

"Oh, uh... Sorry, I'm not actually here to pick up or drop off. I'm just looking to ask a few questions if that's alright! Oh, but uh, my name is Ruby. Ruby Walker, that is, for your records." She was certainly fumbling around with her words a bit, but she certainly did look like she had been running ragged for a little while. [break][break]

"I'll admit, I'm usually really good with Pokemon. But this little guy is, uh..." She'd pause, turning to look at him making a silly face behind her back. A simple look was all it took for them to return back to their 'best behavior.' With a quiet chuckle of her own, Ruby continued. "A handful and a half. I was looking to see if you guys had any ideas of what I could do to train them better. I mean, I imagine you have to look after all types here at the Daycare, right?"

Mint held back from interrupting the pinkette as she chided her pokemon. He almost wanted to say, ‘if you make a mess, you’re gonna clean it, actually’. He eyed the Poipole not really clocking what it was. He opened another tab on his computer screen pulling up a pokedex and seeing if the internet knew anything more about it. “Hello, Ruby.” Mint replied still smiley as ever in his customer service voice. The hyped in the named quickly in case the girl changed her mind. They sort of always did, the tired ones. [break][break]

“Of course~” he replied with a small nod before leaning on the counter to get a better look at Violet. “To be honest, I’ve never seen a pokemon like that before, and my searches aren’t really pulling up anything either.” He said cutting straight to the point despite his friendly demeanor. “But it sort of acts like a typical baby psychic type in my opinion.” He added. Whatever that thing was, it wasn’t that drastically different from the babies they cared for despite its strange appearance. [break][break]

“What exactly do you do to take care of it? I saw you have a reward system in place but what else?” he prodded. There was a very good chance he had advice she had already heard but, who knows. Trainer left baby pokemon at the Daycare for a reason. Sometimes they were ‘a handful and a half’.

[attr="class","rolling-thread"][attr="class,"faction"]She honestly didn't know what she had been expecting. Of course, he had never seen anything like it, most people haven't. It was an alien, for goodness sake! Just a few months ago, the mere concept of aliens, alternate worlds, dimensions, time travel, and everything else would have been just laughed at. Now? There was a tinge of reality to everything, she supposed. [break][break]

"Well, it's not psychic, I can tell you that right now. It's poison, for sure. Its stinger is, uh, quite painful. And the uh... bigger, evolved forms, were very draconic. So that's my best guess." Sure enough at the mention of it, Violet got a cheeky grin on their face. They would have slowly begun to float off to cause some mischief, despite their best efforts at behaving, if it wasn't for the Indeedee just tiredly pulling them back down to the ground. [break][break]

"Honestly? I've done everything I can think of. I've tried rewards, punishments, talking things out, meditation, all that. I've tried different environments, introducing it to different Pokemon, nothing." She'd let out a tired sigh, gently leaning up against the counter as she continued to speak. "It listens in battle! But that's the only time, it just never stops causing mischief otherwise."[break][break]

"To be perfectly fair to the little gal, it's not exactly a normal Pokemon either. It's a Poipole, and they are uh..." She'd pause, trying her best to find the words to describe it before just giving up and being blunt. "Kind of... an actual alien. Yeah."
