After endless wandering through the Safari Zone with little to show for it, there she is: an adorable Meowth running through the beach. Her cream-coloured fur seems to almost shimmer under the sun, and the coin at her forehead is polished and shinning bright.

Is Mars imagining things, or is she running towards?

He runs too, and for a few seconds, it’s as if the world is moving in slow motion.

He looks at the Meowth.

The Meowth looks at him.

They’re about to collide and…

She pounces in an attempt to catch the Inkay, and Mars tackles her down to the sand.

They roll around a few times, claws scratching his arm until a pokéball manages to be pressed against the feline.

Here’s the thing…

The idea of having a Shinx is really growing on Mars. They’re fucking adorable, and sweet, and while he’s not particularly fond of electric types, he has ended with more than a couple by sheer coincidence.
[break][break]
So, he looks at this Shinx that’s trying its best to climb a palm tree, and as he does, he thinks of how Luxray are actually really majestic pokémon and it could maybe even be kind of useful to have one…
[break][break]
But thoughts of Luxray bring back the memory of URIAH BLACK’s own, and this in itself makes 90% of the appeal to getting a Shinx suddenly vanish.

Fuck that. Back to Meowth hunting.
