cian returns the wave and the smile as he approaches.

"nah i've retired since. how's the eevee?"

he begins stretching, starting with his arms.

Killian mirrored the man's stretching. Cinder growing increasingly antsy by his side.

"That's disappointing to hear." he'd done so well, "The Eevee's fine. Very timid and easily to startled, but I'm working on it." handling her with a delicate touch.

Houndoom can't contain herself any longer. Energy overwhelms, and she goes to tackle Cian, tongue ready to lick happily at his face.

it's said with a chuckle. he switches sides, stretching the other way only to be interrupted by the tackling houndoom. he stumbles back, catching his weight to stop himself from falling over as he laughs at the licks.

"i'm much more of a dog person."

There'd be paperwork involved if Cinder burnt him, wouldn't' there?

Killian frowned.

"Cinder, come!"

Her paws linger on Cian a bit longer than they should. With a whine, Cinder's tongue wets his face one last time before retreating. The second she's there, she's pacing again, all the desire to run rising like a fire inside.

"She's got a lot of energy."

"I'm hoping we'll run a bit of it out of her."

thankfully, the houndoom's called away before anything serious could happen. at least killian's doesn't lash out at strangers like Lulu Flint's — wait wrong character.

"we will. you ready?"

despite the question, cian takes off into a light jog, pace slow at first.

"Yea -" but Cian doesn't wait for a reply.

With a shrug, Killian jogged after him, the Houndoom close behind. It doesn't take long for that to change.

A bolt of black, Cinder zoomed ahead of the duo, tongue out and flapping against the side of her jaw. Fuck - it's a good thing Lex isn't around to watch. Pretty sure he'd never hear the end of it.

He whistled to reel the dog back in, but she's either too far ahead or doesn't care. Killian frowned and picked up his pace.

Time to play dog catcher.

and sure enough, the houndoom speeds ahead, just about disappearing from their sights.

which only means one thing.

"guess we're going on an actual run."

cian picks up the pace, transitioning from a light jog to a medium run.

"I can see that." he's curt as he picks up speed.

While CIAN MAHER breaks out into a medium run, Killian's quick to go full speed. He knows nothing else will catch Cinder now that she's booking it to god knows where.

Despite the early morning, there are others out for a jog. They cross Cinder's path, and they don't stand a chance. Bumped to the side as she charges through them. The Houndoom isn't stopping for anyone or anything.

"Sorry!" Killian apologizes as he passes.

[attr="class","cian"]briefly, cian contemplates just calling out a pokemon to stop the houndoom, but surely the admin has more pokemon on him, too, so he follows his lead and shifts into full speed.

eventually, he overtakes killian if only to barely catch up to the houndoom.

"cinder! i got treats!"

Treats is the magic word that has her spinning around. The Houndoom charges at Cian full speed.

It's as CIAN MAHER's calling out that he has treats that Killian remembers he has Cinder's Poke Ball. Caught up in her sudden bolt, it had all but slipped his mind.

The second she's close enough, he pulls it from his waist and returns to the tiny sphere. "Thanks." is all he says and continues running but at a slower pace.

This was embarrassing.

He should really look into a dog trainer. Maybe Lulu Flint knew someone.
