It was the dark furred pup that went by the name of Diesel that first spotted the nasty little spider. His ears fell back, lips peeled back to reveal his tiny sharp pearly whites. A low growl rumbled in his chest, warning the other pups that they had a visitor. The spinarak little head titled to one side, eye balling the possible meal before it. A whine lips from Diesel, not liking the way the wild pokemon was looking at them. Apollo throw his head back in a howl, the two female pups barking at the wild pokemon in hopes all the noise would scare it away.

Of course, all the commotion got both the trainer’s and the two adult canine’s attention. The human let his gaze flickered to each larger canine before motioning with a nod to take care of things. The wild spider inched closer to the small litter, hungry eyes on the smaller male pup. But before the wild pokemon could get much closer, the largest hell hound took in a deep breath. The taste of sulfur thick in her muzzle. And soon, a FLAMETHROWER erupted from her parted mouth. A stream of flames targeted the wild pokemon. It noticed, turning and fleeing before being set ablaze. Tobias, the male houndoom, comforted the pups, standing tall and proud over them before Azula joined in.

Maverick rolled his eyes, finding that it was a little much but did get the job done. His fingers rose to his lips, pinching his bottom lip to whistle them to follow him so they could continue the search.

The three pups continued to play peacefully, barks and yips erupted from their little fights. Maverick couldn’t help the grin that tugged the edges of his lips, muffled chuckle escaped him. There was something beyond words he draw him to this species. It was almost like a calling, pulling him to rescue, trade, or buy everyone he comes across. Watching they play also reminded him of his first ever pokemon, a houndour named Kimba. In fact, he had found her once again and she currently is with her mate in the exhibits.

A sudden veracious snarl broke the trainer’s gaze on the pups, warm orbs shifted to the creature that called. Azula was in her defensive position, teeth bared and warning sounds emitted from her. She stood guard over the pups, whom down hid under her. The male houndoom stood tall next to the female one, his own lips peeled back but more on the offensive stance. The human lifted his gaze to see the familiar form of a sableye. It snickered, large gem eyes stared at them. Maverick had no desire to capture said creature, despite them being a rare sighting.

“Tobias,” the man mumbled, his expression flat and tone even flatter, “Scare it away with Inferno.” The hell hound planted his paws into the earth. His chest cavity expanded, the taste of sulfur grew in his throat. And in the matter of seconds, the canine’s muzzle burst open to release a flaming stream of fire. The INFERNO reached for the ghost and dark type, aiming to hit and burn its target. The wild pokemon took the hit, unable to attack until after the opponent hits first. The flames engulfed it, burning his delicate ghostly form. In fact, it hurt so badly that the creature changed its mind. It fled the scene without a trace.

Maverick huffed, shrugging his shoulders as the tense faded and the pups continued to play. Azula let out a snort, eyes now on full alert for another intruder. Meanwhile, Tobias decided to lay down and take a nap.

Hours had pass since they came across the sableye. Despite the high activity this morning, it seemed that later in the day was going to be more chill. Warm digits flickered at the sound of some rustling, spotting a pawnaird in the distance. A sigh escaped him, still not being able to find this canine. But it was getting late, time to head home.

Hand rose to pinch his bottom lip, forcing air through his lips to let a whistle erupted. All the canine’s turned to look, rushing to Maverick as he waved them all in. One by one, the trainer recalled each creature until it was just him and Azula. His gaze turned to the wild pokemon, nothing it was still watching them. “Come on,” the man mumbled, turning away from the pawniard, “Let’s head home.”
