These hot spring treatments were doing wonders for his stamina.

He felt like his circulation was 'cleaner' and his lungs were stronger. Maybe something about his blood's improved circulation and blood pressure allowed his body to take in air more efficiently.

Whatever he wasn't a doctor.

He just knew coming here cleared his mind and expanded his already tempered tolerance for the heat.

"You alright over there?" He wasn't even sure why he was asking. It was her after all. So he asked, but he didn't really need her to respond.

She chuckles, clearly tickled by her own little joke. Speaking of, she could really go for a marshmellow or two..

"Mmm... come on in, Sénon, the water is fiiiine."

Stormy has sunk so that her ears are just above the water. There is a warm, satisfied grin spread across her features. She looks totally at ease and relaxed, fingers spread on either side of her.

The heated water was fine, if he focused just enough he could ignore the building 'itch' that came with his aversion to heat.

From the weekly run along the Fiery Path to the excessive pursuit of fire-type pokémon; he learned to take the heat.

But, even he had his limits.

"Just don't go channeling that god of yours." He leaned back against the rocky side of their personal spring, trying to breathe deep and regulate his body temperature against the outside sources.

"Unless you want help Cait change all those diapers." Hard-boiled to death was a bad way to go.

But she leans back and deeper into the water as well, breathing out a long sigh as the steam rises.

"I would love to help Cait change all those diapers. I still can't believe you two are having twins."

Panic briefly streaks across her face. She hesitates, an 'uhhhhh' left hanging awkwardly in the air between them as she struggles to come up with something to say. What did he mean, why had he repeated her statement with such confusion?

"Uhhh....."

More panicked thought, more uncomfortable silence. What was she supposed to say? Was this a secret? Had cait alfric not told him? Had she been mistaken?

"Con..gratulations?"

She lifts her hands out of the water to shrug. If she had been close enough to him, she'd give him an awkward hug with an even more awkward pat on the back.

"Ha." He pointed at her, jovial. "I'm just pulling your leg stormborn." He knew about the twins.

He and Cait were were in talks of 'boy or girl and how many of each. They made quick peace with the idea of two kids but were Cait wanted two boys, Sénon was leaning more in the way of two girls, or more fitting perhaps; one of each.

"I know all about the 'double down' coming our way." He was cautiously optimistic and spent his every waking moment ready to provide what she required at a moment's notice. "I want you to know, even if Cait and I become scarce with these new duties you're always welcome to come visit so long as you can hold a baby and/or change a diaper." He wasn't joking, he anticipated Cait of all people getting Cabin Fever before too long. "Ice cream, pizza and a 'Bewitched' binge? You'd crash that slumber party for sure."

Oh my God, he's joking.

She exhales heavily, relief turning her face red as she glances away and rolls her eyes.

"Of course I'll come visit! I wouldn't miss it for the world- dirty diapers and new baby smell."

Stormy smiles broadly, positively beaming from ear to ear at the prospect of helping them with the babies. The mention of ice cream, pizza, and a 'Bewitched' binge sounded good, too.

"Anyway." He closed his eyes, letting himself be vulnerable for just a damn moment. "Don't let me do all the talking."

Without vision his sense of hearing was focused and with his clearing mind his comprehension was peaked.

"Spill it." He didn't know what 'it' was but his ear was always friendly for her. Stumbling along that path to becoming less of a friend and more of a brother.

Given Stormy was at his side during a personal eruption, he intended to be a steady shoulder for her when life started to heat up.

Stormy had frankly done so much talking lately that she was exhausted of it. To let him do all of the talking was honestly a relief, and to have him turn it around on her with such a cryptic question made her uneasy.

Her first instinct is panic, to stare back at him with wide eyes and racing thoughts.

Spill what?

Had cait alfric spoken to him about something? What had she told him that he was asking her about it? What even was he asking about? Was this just a test like the teasing he had subjected her to earlier?

"Uhh.. I don't really have anything to spill. Same old, same old over here, y'know?"

But he goes ahead with the prying, merely going at it from a different angle. It's enough, however, to throw Stormy off the scent -- at least a little bit.

Well.. not really.

She whistles kind of after every word, flying an airplane with her hand out and over the water as if it were taking off. She smiles a little bit, but the gesture is half-hearted.

Everyone had their barriers and walls set a bit differently; maybe she didn't trust him enough to divulge such close kept secrets. For him though, his pursuit of her status was easy to justify.

Her face full of tears outside of ALEXANDER STONE 's funeral was seared into his mind.

"You don't look like you're bursting to talk about it, so I'll switch gears." When his eyes cracked open, his gaze was more serious. "Tell me everything you can about Moltres."

She hesitates, attention focused on his face while his eyes are closed and he might not notice. She thinks back to ALEXANDER STONE's funeral, to the absolute, unending, black hole of grief that had gripped her. It makes her chest hurt even now to think about it. Like reopening an old wound by peeking in the memories box.

It chokes her up for a moment and she holds her breath to keep from spilling over. Grief never gets easier, really.

"What? Moltres..? Why?"

She catches his gaze now in his half-lidded stare. It is severe despite their more relaxed conversation. He catches her off-guard and it shows in her wide-eyed stare and frozen expression.

"It's.. a bird.. with fiery wings?"

"-because I'm from Cinnabar Island and it/they. . ." He'd already closed his eyes again, but that didn't stop him making air quotes. "Allegedly, roosted there." It was also super possible it was Moltres itself who caused Mt. Cinnabar to blow.

"Not many people have a legendary entity heavily associated with their hometown. The ones that do probably don't get much of a chance to ask its 'torchbearer' questions about it, or at least its nature."
