The hike, so far, is rather uneventful. Eva is overall grateful for that. The last thing she needs when trying to relax is more stress. Well, it’s uneventful until Xena darts off into the tall grass with an ACCELEROCK.

“Hey! Wait for me!” she calls out after the canine. There’s no hope in catching the Lycanroc in time. There’s the sound of a small tussle before silence. Eva slows her run, breathing heavily as she anxious waits for Xena to return . . . or something else.

A subtle rustle proceeds the Lycanroc happily trotting out of the brush with a fluffy Swirlix in its mouth. The canine wagged her tail and sat down in front of Eva, proudly displaying her catch for the trainer, “Xena, drop it,” Eva firmly points towards the ground. Reluctantly, the Lycanroc opened it’s maw and dropped the wounded Swirlix, “Great,” she sighs, extracting a Safari Ball to capture the wounded pokemon. Now she’s gotta take care of it.

With the Swirlix safely secure, they proceed with their hike. After a firm talking to with the Lycanroc, of course.

The “talk” didn’t seem to help. As soon as the golden kitten appeared in their path, Xena was at it again. In the traditional dog vs. cat fashion . . . the chase was on.

The Shinx hissed violently at the canine as she advanced. Accelrock brought her towards the pokemon quickly but the Shinx was ready. He met the Lycanroc with a Volt Switch. Sparks collided with fur as the two tangled up. Eva already had a pokeball ready. The pull of the sphere was too much to resist. The Volt Switch sucked the Shinx right in after the attack.

“Oh, um . . . ok,” Guess that works.

Eva tucks the pokeball away into the side of her back pack before continuing on with Xena. The pup trots ahead again, and Eva wishes she had a leash to keep this enthusiastic pup under wraps.

Unfortunately, she doesn’t and Xena runs off again. Eva sighs, shaking her head while picking up the pace of her walk to keep up. Eventually, she comes across the Lycanroc playfully wagging her tail and sparing with a sapphire Electrike. Eva laughs, watching for a while before they tucker themselves out. Shrugging the back pack off, Eva reaches in to grab a bowl and water for them to keep them hydrated. They seem to get along, so Eva offer the electric type an empty Safari Ball, and me accepts by tapping his nose against the metal, disappearing in a flash.
