"That is exactly what my brother said before becoming a massive headache the next day - to himself and to me. Truly, complacent can be your worst enemy" Tara starts entering the lecture mode that she often uses whenever her brother boasts about their tolerance. Sure that his brother's tolerance is stronger than the normal people that she know of - More than what she can handle and she thinks of herself as quite a strong drinker. But due to that - her brother often goes overboard and overstepping his own capacity. "Your tolerance might be stronger but that doesn't mean that you are limitless" Tara recites the line that she often says to her brother toward Luka. [break][break]

"Basically, just watch how you drink and be mindful to your limit" Tara sigh realizing that she just enter a lecture mode to someone who she just knows today. "Sorry bout' that... You probably don't want to get lectured by someone you just met today. So, what we were talking about again? Ah yeah..." Tara snaps her finger trying to change the topic "Kalos. So, you are from Kalos huh? Never had a chance to go there nor have money for it. Despite the current predicament that Hoenn is facing right now, please believe me when I say that Hoenn is a beautiful region and has a lot of things to offer besides snow"

In fact, Luka doesn't mind the pseudo-lecture at all. Rather, she thinks it rather sweet that a near-stranger cares enough to look out for her. A happy smile settles on her face, and that familiar warmth settles in her cheeks and thrums in her heart. Oh dear....

"Oh gosh, don't apologize! I appreciate your concern," she says with a genuine smile. "And I believe you! Snow aside, this region is really lovely," Luka agrees.

"The ocean is beautiful, and everyone I've met is just so lovely! And these springs..." she sighs happily, settling back into the warm water. "They're perfect. We don't have anything like this back home, really!"

Tara rests her cheeks on the cups of her hand, staring at how sweet the lady is. "Man, I wish you are my little sister. You are a good kid" Tara blurts out of nowhere. Her whole life has always been either herself or her brother - It is not like she dislikes her brother, but having a little sister would probably made her life more fun. "If I can ask, what brings you to come to Hoenn? Oh yeah, do you mind if I raise up the heat? The temperature has become a bit lukewarm here" Tara asks and goes to the temperature control for the onsen without waiting for the answer.

"Oh, um...thank you?"

This isn't the first time someone's assumed that Luka's younger than she is. And it likely won't be the last. There's still some residual baby fat in her face, all rounded features and soft eyes— and her personality doesn't help either.

It also doesn't help that she's too polite to correct her companion. Luka just has another sip of sake, trying to drive the point home that she's at least old enough to drink.

"Mm, I don't mind! I was thinking the same thing." Steam billows around them as the temperature increases, and Luka sighs happily even as sweat beads on the back of her neck. "As for why I moved...I guess I wanted a fresh start! Seeing new places, meeting new people...a-and, um, starting my own Pokemon journey, of a sort." She laughs sheepishly. "It's a little different when you start as an adult...but it's still a lot of fun!"

There is something akin to hesitation from Luka but Tara just shrugged it off. "Pokemon journey huh? What kind of partner do you have?" Tara asks feeling curious. "My partners are a bunch of big boys and can be quite a handful, however whenever I am doing my job they are really helpful and there is no one I would put my trust to watch my back beside them." Tara stares at her bag that is resting on the entrance. "I recently got a Dusknoir but she barely wants to listen to me - I still need to discipline her." Tara let out a sigh. [break][break]

She has to. Like Tara, Luka struggles with a Pokemon outside her control, and most of her journey is being made for his sake. To prove herself to him, so that she might one day be able to help free him from the anguish that has hold of his heart.

"But my journey has been...mmm, I can't really say that it's been easy. B-but the struggle is important too, right? That's the only way to get stronger..." She shrugs. "You mentioned something about a job? What do you do?"

"Yep, there is no such thing as an easy way when you want to improve yourself" Tara nods, although she said that - Sometimes she finds herself trying to find an easy way out. Not a noble thing to do but that is Tara. "Ah, I haven't told you, have I? I am Slateport police officer, reporting for duty" Tara introduce herself then suddenly realized something "Oops, force of habit. I am actually not on duty right now" Tara let out a laugh. "Well, even if this is not my area of jurisdiction - If you need any help, feel free to call me" Tara announced proudly, hitting her chest posing - However, she hit her chest too hard which makes her cough.

"Oh! An officer? That's so impressive!" She means it too— this isn't just empty flattery because she's talking to a cop. "There's a few interpol members in my family," Luka continues without going into specifics. "It's always seemed like such hard work..."

She glances over at Tara, giggling at the exaggerated thump to her chest. It's silly and cute, something to make the other woman seem more approachable despite her position. "Ehe, you're too kind! If I ever find myself in a pickle, I'll be sure to call on you," she promises with an easy smile.

Tara let out a laugh when Luka says about intelligence, "I am not the brightest one in the force, far from it even, but I am still a police until now" Tara talks remembering her practical test exam when joining to be police way back, she barely passes the exam and if it wasn't for her physical exam - She wouldn't pass to be police. "But, I guess Interpol is different than the force" Tara tilts her head. She knows that the police works together with Interpol in some cases but she can't remember the detail. "Well, either way... If you want to be one, I am sure that you can be a great Interpol... But you need to work on your easily flustered part I guess" Tara mentions. "Imagine when you arrest a criminal and they start to hit on you. It wouldn't be funny if they run away because you got flustered" Tara laughs.

"If there is a dashing and charming rogue out there" Tara trails off for a moment trying to put up a word together. The mischievous part of her brain is starting to work once more and something cheesy is going to happen. "... Then I will be you are gallant knight to save you from the poisonous charm of them" Tara approaches her as swiftly as possible since they are in a hot spring right now and touch push Luka to the wall and kabedon her. "... And I will never let you go when I save you," Tara said with the coolest tone that she can muster. A deep tone with a slight vibration on it making it alluring to someone who hears it.

And there she goes again, so easily swept up in silly, romantic ideals. A knight! How gallant! Her cheeks pinken again.

"A-a knight would suit you, I think! So cool and brave..." She's so swept up in fantasy that she doesn't notice Tara stand up, not until the other woman lunges forwards and pins her against the wall.

Oh goodness...it's a kabdeon! A real, honest, just-like-in-shoujo-manga kabedon! Luka's cartwheel heart stutters and flips, and for a moment she forgets how to speak.

"O-oh my..." she manages to stammer out eventually. "A-are knights usually this, erm, t-this bold, too?"
