Mt. Pyre is not an unfamiliar place, and yet it’s also not a place for which Mars has any fondness.

There is no sense of “spookiness” or dread, but it’s simply not where he’d choose to be on most days. And yet, here he is, as the light of the day fades away. Light fog dances in the air, the twilight skies darkening by the minute as he walks down a poorly marked path that probably has not been used in years.

Today, tonight, he’s here with a purpose.

The Beheeyem’s presence is not unwelcome, but is also not what Mars seeks. Still, it serves as a good sign, because it exists in contrast with the usual ghosts and spectres that inhabit Mt. Pyre.

Continuing on his path, he pays it little mind, eyes as if bright-amber scanning his surroundings in search for the strange Psychic types that are said to sometimes appear upon such a mount. Unown. Their name being all too indicative of their existence in this world.

He’s no stranger to the ringing of metal, and the sight of the Iron Leg pokémon is expected when it comes. A Metagross will always be impressive, powerful, but it’s also not what Mars is looking for this time around…

As he continues with his search, light completely fades from the sky and his surroundings darken. It’s late, and it’s probably time to leave Mt. Pyre.

This time, empty-handed.

Something shuffles in the bushes, and while Mars highly doubts it will be what he has been searching for, it is better than nothing.

He reaches for a pokéball, summoning a shiny Inkay, and with no more than a short whistling sound and a nod in the bush’s direction, the Revolving Pokémon attacks with a swift NIGHT SLASH

Mars had come here to find Unown, not make omelettes, but surely he can find at least some worth in the latter, right?

An empty pokéball is tossed without hesitation.
